According to a statement released by Flinders University, underwater archaeologists working with the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation rangers and divers have identified sites off the northwestern coast of Australia where First Peoples lived more than 9,000 years ago, when sea levels rose and reshaped the coastline. The submerged area covers some 772,000 square miles. One of the identified sites includes a freshwater spring and stone tools, which were made using material obtained from an island about 14 miles away. Another site featured a rocky hill overlooking a river channel. "The Ngarda-Ngarli people have cared for Murujuga for at least 50,000 years," said Vincent Adams, director of Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation. "The more we learn about how our ancestors used and cared for Country, the better equipped we are to protect it for future generations," he added. All those SUVs they drove to Canberra................
I tend not to buy into any of those "been here 10s of 1000s of years" claims, which are generally speaking entirely devoid of evidence.
Um, I came across this in New Zealand, uh, about a year ago and now I suppose it is, uh, when um I found myself rushing headlong into a controversy. Um, the then Labor government in New Zealand had implemented an education policy in which science classes were to be taught Māori so-called ways of knowing as of equal status to what they call western science, which just means science and um few centuries is couple of centuries before the British arrived in New Zealand.

Walking around naked with bones through our noses?
“Walking around naked with bones through our noses?”
We’ve come a long way and now parade down the streets naked, except for leather collars, chains, nose rings, multiple ear rings, rings through the breasts, belly buttons, and I can only guess where else. And tattoos covering everything. Outlandish hair coloring. Yes indeed...we’ve come a long way.
“Yes indeed...we’ve come a long way.”

That’s a lot of area to search underwater.
There may be some big surprises.
I’d like to see a study of the east coast of the United States of the continental shelf where trawlers have picked up mammoth teeth and human artifacts.
