Things in the UK just keep getting wackier.

New cars.
Every three years.
For people with wheat sensitivities.
From the Wall Street Journal article:
Disability payouts are no longer just for those most in need; they have become a financial crutch for a large swath of the population as wages stagnate and prices rise.
It's blowing up Britain's welfare bill, hamstringing its politicians and imperiling its long-term financial stability.
Some seven million people — more than 10% of the population — now claim at least one or more sickness or disability benefits. The numbers are growing fastest among working-age people who should be powering the country's economy, surging more than 60% in the past six years to 4.7 million from 2.9 million in 2019.
(Wait, all those "working-age men" they imported aren't contributing to the future of the nation??)
Not including healthcare, the country will spend more than £100 billion this year on all types of welfare benefits for the sick and disabled, about a third more than defense spending. The tab has surged by a quarter in just four years and is on course to hit £130 billion in the next four, according to the government's fiscal forecasts.
To call this "unsustainable" would be a severe understatement.

So, essentially, people in the UK can come up with just about any "disability" they want and get a new ride.
Listen to one woman's story:
Catherine Wieland got on Britain's welfare rolls in 2021. With a history of emotional trauma, she was too anxious to go outside or carry out simple tasks like washing herself, she told the government.
Soon, she was receiving about £700, or $1,000, a month in disability benefits. And, it turns out, going outside quite a bit.
Using a taxpayer-subsidized program for those with disabilities, Wieland paid a small deposit for free use of a BMW, which she used to regularly visit the hair salon, dine out at restaurants, attend a Brighton pride parade and visit an amusement park. According to court reports in her fraud conviction, she also flew to Cancún, Mexico, where she posted pictures of herself ziplining and riding a quad motorbike.
The Journal notes that the UK's increase in welfare spending has outpaced any other G7 nation, but people - including the mass numbers of migrants on welfare - have reacted angrily at the suggestion of any cuts.
Former PM Keir Starmer tried to cut five billion pounds from the budget in 2025 and received instant backlash.
But if something is not done quickly, the entire country will collapse into financial insolvency.
Across the European Union, government welfare spending has steadily grown from just 10% of economic output in the early 1960s to an average of 27% today, compared with about 21% in the U.S.
In the meantime, chances of being stabbed to death by a Muslim are pretty high, but "free" cars for tennis elbow!!

And just think-they get cars now!
Attended a wedding this weekend.
I’m a family friend and really didn’t know hardly anyone there. I was seated at dinner next to a Brit who has lived here for 30 years. He mourns his son who is perfectly capable but makes more money sitting at home on welfare than if he were a productive citizen.
You honestly couldn’t screw a country up more than what they’re doing to themselves.
It’s only taxpayer money and they are government so they can steal as much as they want then DEMAND MORE
“320 people with dyslexia got a free car”
Mild disappointment among dyslexics ran high when they received new cars instead of new racs. But Her Majesty’s Bureau of Free Stuff reports they got over it.
Not to be outdone by the Brits, Gavin Newsom immediately tasked the California legislature to send him a bill with the same benefit for dyslexics.
Truest statement of the day.
According to the left, I’m disabled because I’m a republican/Co servative lol
Did you hear the one about the agnostic, dyslexic insomniac?
He lays awake at night wondering if there is a dog..................
According to the left, I’m disabled because I’m a republican/Co servative lol where’s my car?
Disability is the biggest scam there is.
Should these people be driving , is it safe ? Wouldn’t those little van type buses be a much better idea , pick up and move a bunch at a time
“but people - including the mass numbers of migrants on welfare - have reacted angrily at the suggestion of any cuts”
You better think 100 times before you hand out bennies, because if you ever try to take them away you’ll suffer the pains of hell.
couldn’t agree more, and especially in this day and age.
“Among those who got new cars last year: .... 50 people with wheat intolerance according to government figures”
Beamers for Bread program?
“Among those who got new cars last year: .... 50 people with wheat intolerance according to government figures”
Beamers for Bread program?
The UK needs a Real government and not these Woke piles of Garbage , they’ll never get a Real government they’ll get sharia law

So 21% our our GDP goes to welfare!
What?
When huge national debts are incurred not for productive investments but for consumption, the subsidy of the non productive and useless wars, an economy and its host civilization collapses. Historically such was the fate of many such countries, empires and political entities throughout the world. Such is the current fate of Western Europe and sadly soon the United States.
