These Numbers Should Terrify Democrats Ahead of the Midterms
PJ Media ^ | 10-07-2026 | Matt Margolis

With less than a month to go before the midterms, the questionable polls keep piling up. I've been saying for a while that I think the GOP will outperform the polls this year, and a fresh report from CNN backs that up.

According to CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten, there's some incredibly good news for the GOP in both the short term and long term, which may matter more than the polls.

CNN anchor John Berman set up the segment by noting that plenty of surveys show the races slipping away from Republicans. He then asked Enten what the party could feel good about. Enten mentioned party registration in the swing states that usually decide presidential elections and compared today's margins with Election Day 2018, President Donald Trump's first midterm. Republicans have improved their standing against Democrats by four points in Arizona, five in Nevada, seven in Pennsylvania, and eight in North Carolina.

Republicans may not be good at responding to poll takers, but this report shows they are registering to vote in large numbers and are positioning themselves to outperform the media polls.

Fake polls by fake press is the oldest trick in the book.

I a in NH. We have a US Senate race that will set a new record for the amount of money spent.
I get test messages and phone calls constantly on my cell.

I am a registered Rep and a member of the local town GOP committee. So, I am sure my email address and phone number has been sold dozens of times. I NEVER answer polls. My wife likes to. She feels she is making her opinion known.

Here in MA, I am buried in ads from our lesbian Governor Maura Healey running for re-election against Mike Minogue. Her ads blame Trump for all the chaos in MA and say that MAGA Mike Minogue will make things worse.

I have never seen an ad from Minogue.

I feel like the GOP, in general, is not even trying this year. The Democrats seem to be campaigning against Trump (and I’m pretty sure that Trump will not be re-elected this year). But that’s the best they can do. And since a lot of Republicans seem to be barely campaigning, the Democrats might do well.

I hear that the GOP has lots of money. How about spending some?

Pretty much the same in Georgia...Bottoms vs Jackson. Not sure the GOP is interested in electing Jackson or Collins.

Thune blew about $90 million propping up Cornyn in the primary, or so I'm told.

Mine too. I love the ones from the Bernie Bros addressed to “Howard”. I always ask them to mail me a yard sign. I’ve never received one yet.

I wish the RNC would figure out that donating to your favorite candidate does NOT mean you want to donate to every candidate. It makes donating anything a tough decision. I hate being constantly bombarded with fund raising trash.

Because in MA and NY etc, the GOP party is deader than a doornail.

Recall the DesMoines Register poll in 2024 that had Harris beating Trump by 4-6 points. This year they are trying the same strategy, build an anti-trump backlash among republicans. We see ads with some chump saying “I voted for Trump every time but by golly I’m voting blue this year.” Sadly there do seem to be a few suckers falling for it.

The only time the communists are ever terrified is when they’re looking down the wrong end of a gun barrel. That’s why they wanna outlaw em so much Spit. Other than that, they just keep rolling on, pushing, shoving their socialist/communisttrans BS down the throat of America.

Mitt Romney destroyed the GOP in Massachusetts. His term was a catastrophe for Republicans, much like Chris Christie's was for Republicans here in NJ.

Mike Minogue should embrace the MAGA tag and run on it. He should remind citizens of Massachusetts of their heritage and that corrupt degenerate baby-murderers like Maura Healey do not represent the virtues that Massachusetts once stood for.

Even if he doesn't win, he will inspire a new generation of Massachusetts conservatives. In deep blue states, that's the way to begin building.

Yep.

Fake polls - there were plenty when Hillary was running - remember she had an over 90% chance of winning the election on the morning of the election, according to polls - and election she went on to lose.

And Kamala Harris was ahead by three points in Iowa the weekend before the election - a state Trump won by over 13 points.

This is done to discourage Republican voters - why bother to vote if the Democrat is so far ahead? (what the media claim).

How many conservatives bother to answer pollsters? That is, if they are asked at all.

Same in the coastal counties of CA. Although I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to see a billboard for Steve Hilton in Santa Clara County the other day.

I don’t believe any poll when even the election can be hacked. Theres a lot of sunshine being pumped up our collective skirts and not for heat or light.

Thune blew about $90 million propping up Cornyn in the primary, or so I'm told.

And Trump blew $30 Million getting rid of Massie

Defending RINOs and getting rid on Non-AIPAC Republicans in primaries the sky is the limit, running against the Dems then money somehow becomes an issue.

Most of the polls at this point in the cycle are push polls anyway.

My phone doesn't have any room for political polls, it's inundated with companies offering signature loans with no credit check...they just need a "few details" to complete the application...lol.

I see no difference between 2018 and today. Ted Cruz and Ken Paxton are two of the least liked politicians in the US, and both have been written off by the MSM. Talarico is spending his money on streaming ads trying to rebut what the Pubbies have been saying about him. It's not about what he'll do for Texas, it's all about how bad Trump and Paxton are. That's not a winning formula in Texas. Paxton's a known quantity and all of the news about him is old.
