A team scanning a boat-shaped hill in eastern Turkey has announced that new radar images show a large man-made structure underground, not just natural rock.
On Wednesday, private research group Noah’s Ark Scans released a preliminary report about their work at the Durupınar Formation in Turkey, claiming that the 515-foot boat-shaped mound contained a 'man-made object.'
The scans were conducted by Dr Khosrow Bakhtar, an engineer who spent decades building detection systems for US defense agencies, including the Air Force, Navy and NORAD.
He used a system he invented called BakhtarRadar, originally developed to find buried tunnels and hidden structures, to scan beneath the boat-shaped Durupınar mound and see whether it was solid natural rock or a man-made structure with rooms and corridors inside.
That process has now concluded that the object under the Durupınar mound is not a natural rock formation, but a large organized man-made structure with corridors, chambers and hallways inside.
In a press release sent to the Daily Mail, Dr Bakhtar said: 'Whatever the object is beneath the surface is extraordinary.
'In forty years of this work, I have never seen anything like it. It could be a ship. It could be a spaceship. What I can say from the radar is that it is organized, it is structural, and a solid geological mass would not have returned such a strong signature.'

If this object is just a routine boat that somehow made it on top of a mountain range, maybe. it’s nothing special if so.
However, if it is really Noah’s Ark, I think it would be protected because the people descending from the Ark would view it as a sacred object, where you might die if you take it a part.
Nobody is saved because of the denomination they associate with or the church they attend.
People are only saved by Jesus.
“My guess is that people scavenged the ark for wood to construct houses, etc. So there would have been nothing left after a few years.”
My guess is that altitude would have prevented that.
mh370?
Jimmy Hoffa?
If it is, even if they proved it is there are still ones who who would take umbrage with it.
I think there are ones who would argue with God and tell him he’s wrong, and in not a very nice way.
They never do believe, kneel down, accept, change...
They do not want to. Love their ways.
Those who mock and scoff can’t seem to come up with a believable explanation as to the many anchor/drogue stones found within a few miles of the Durupınar Noah’s ark site.
We have some people who seem to think that insisting on the superiority of their particular sect is more important than actually practicing Christianity.
(We have Jews who practice Christianity better than some of the self proclaimed Christians.)
Yet ZERO biblical support for this by any NT writer. Zero.
See post 31,
All kinds of structures might have held humans and animals (though I don’t know if much useful DNA would still be there after thousands of years.)
It's better than I originally thought. Apparently sap pitch requires re-application every 5 years, and Noah probably didn't reapply pitch on the arc after the flood.
Any part of the arc in contact with the soil was most likely attacked by termites and dry rot pretty quickly.
In Israel, they found a sunken boat back in ‘86 carbon dating from 40 BC.
Someone decided to call it the Jesus Boat.
The reality its just a boat.
I heard about the “arc” when I was in high school.
Carbon dating would have been the FIRST thing to do.
I’m pretty sure its NOT a 4000 year old boat.
Did they also find fossilized paw prints of the koalas, as they set out from Turkey for Australia?
As I understand it, some creationists say that the Ark didn’t have every species, but had two of every baramin, i.e., a “kind” that were the ancestors of more than one contemporary species. I don’t understand how one baramin could turn into multiple species except by... evolution.
Under favorable circumstances, pitch can gradually transform to amber, the oldest known of which is 385 million years old.
I keep wondering about all the insects.
And all the food and hay and mucking out...Noah would have needed a huge army, not just a family.
Do you mind providing your source?
There was a FR thread a few days ago about some folks in Germany doing a historical inventory of a home, with a cellar dating back to 1420 or something. In looking at the ceiling they discovered that it was made from boards from what had previously been a boat (small ship?). It was the largest find of a boat with so many pieces still intact - many of the pieces joined in the ceiling just as they had been in the boat.
I’d start looking in old cellars of Turkey.
GPR data can be interpreted to be most anything if you squint your eyes properly. Especially if you process it. I recall back in school one kid “processed” seismic data (which can be processed similar to GPR data) with the final output being a black “X” in the middle of a white page. He titled it “Dig Here”.
Matches biblical dimensions.
Located at approximately 6,500 feet
Anchor/drogue stones found in close proximity to the site
Multiple anchor/drogue stones with carvings of 8 crosses, etc…Noah and his family
Did ancient peoples build a zoo or circus at that site? (no) Anything else in the area that large and age, at that elevation with corridors, chambers and hallways inside? (no) What else could it possibly be other than Noah’s ark? Why are there so many HUGE anchor/drogue stones close to the site?
I would love to hear your theory as to what that kind of man-made structure that held humans and animals it could be if not Noah’s ark.
Fidelis says it could be “a remote village, a military fort, a summer palace, a temple or monastery, etc.”
Again, any ancient buildings found in that area with corridors, chambers, and hallways, matching the biblical length of the ark? (no)
CHAT: 🧩 Why the ancient town sits lower
Durupınar is on a high ridge at ~6,500 ft, while ancient towns cluster lower because:
Water access
Arable land
Trade routes
Protection from harsh winter winds at higher elevations
Ancient settlements almost never sit at 6,500 ft unless forced by terrain — and the Ararat basin provides lower, more habitable plateaus.
In Genesis 7:2-3 God instructs Noah to take into the Ark seven pairs of every "clean" animal. So there would have been 14 cows, 14 sheep, 14 goats, 14 ibexes, 14 American buffaloes, 14 cape buffaloes, 14 water buffaloes, and so on. The Ark would have been very crowded, indeed.
Has this been determined to BE a 'structure' yet?
