FBI Deputy Director Andrew Bailey resigned after one year on the job, according to The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and MSNOW.
Andrew Bailey had been overseeing election matters.
Last August, then-Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel tapped then-Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey to serve as Co-Deputy Director of the FBI.
It is unclear why Bailey resigned.
Later Monday morning, Andrew Bailey thanked President Trump, AG Blanche and Kash Patel for the opportunity to serve in the FBI.
"I want to thank President Trump, AG Todd Blanche, and FBI Director Kash Patel for the opportunity to serve in the FBI. Under President Trump’s leadership, we have delivered historic results in our mission to Make America Safe Again," Bailey said.
"With great pride in what we have accomplished, I am announcing that I am stepping down to return to my family in Missouri. I am confident Director Patel will continue to reform the FBI, combat violent crime, defend the homeland, ensure strong organizational accountability, and restore public trust in this institution of excellence," Bailey added.

Seems to me, the midterms being around the corner would be a very good reason to stay.
What the hell is going on with the prosecutions we want to see?
From election rigging to weaponizing gov’t. People are quitting instead of bringing the prosecutions.
As an aside, this kind of banter was never common on FR, until recently. As has also been pointed out, there seem to be a lot of trolls on FR currently - and their job is to demoralize conservatives.
The FBI doesn’t prosecute..............
Right they collect the evidence used to prosecute. And it appears the guys at the top of the investigation and the prosecution have quit!
So the question is why?
Are they not finding anything but being forced to do something they don’t want to do?
Or are they not wanting to do the hard work which may have them arrested if Democrats win in 2028 because they prosecuted their corrupt people.
Democrats wield power with a mailed fist; Republican with mittens, if they ever gather the nerve to approach.
The only things keeping this midterm from being a post-Watergate level wipeout are some of the redistricting plans and Maine Democrats unable to help themselves from nominating retarded freaks to run for Senate.
The Communists, degenerates, gibsmedats, cat ladies, and boomer lefties will be out in full force, crawling over broken glass to vote.
A good percentage of the 2016/20/24 Trump coalition that isn’t plugged 24/7 into social media or online politics is just going to sit this one out.
“But Biden gas prices were higher adjusted for inflation” sounds like Charlie Brown’s teacher talking for people looking at fuel and heating oil prices NOW, not what happened five years ago or what was promised and actually happening before the Iran idiocy.
They voted for secure borders/deportations, affordability, and no new Middle East wars. 1 out of 3 may win you the MLB batting title but not a midterm election.
I would like nothing better than to eat my words but I’m not mainlining that hopium for November either.

‘ No, I don’t. It was implied in a previous post that this guy was ‘jumping ship’ before the election. My post was saying the opposite. If he was ‘jumping ship’ it would be because the administration is on top of things pre-election. Hopefully, as was commented in response to me, this is about his own family that he is appropriately prioritizing.

Well, Jim, that might be your opinion, but it appears your eyesight is failing - the Congressional Quarterly finds otherwise.
A recent analysis by its Roll Call of votes for which Trump had publicly taken a position found that Senate Republicans voted with him 96% of the time and House Republicans 95% of the time.
