It is delayed on the computer also. If it hangs up, just wait because if you click it again and again, it will post multiple times.

This was an issue many years ago also.

When I hit “Post” the last few days there was an abnormal lag - though I am on a desktop connected via Ethernet with almost 1GB speed - which is likely the reason for double posts.

it acts like it probably needs an index built on a database table to speed it up ...easy stuff to try ... if it works, great ... if not, look deeper ...

There have been some mentions about the site's response time being slow lately, and that surely contributes to people being impatient and hitting "Post" more than once. I'd give it a 99% probability.

As to why it's slow, my own speculation is that with the FReepathon contributions being horribly low this quarter, the admin(s) may have reduced the compute (# of CPUs) in the virtual machine at Linode that runs the site, to save money. Compute in a VM scales directly with cost. I do the same thing for my company when funds for a project are running low. Better to have slower response than to have to shut it down entirely.

But that's just a hunch on my part.

Back in the day delays and even FR crashing and going offline was a common occurence. A deliberate method used to coerce more donations to the FReepathon.

Are we seeing the same thing happening these days? I don’t know since the owners seem not to care whether Freepathon goals are met or not.
