FR hasn't really changed much over the decades I've been on it. And I know many people have supported it directly financially (I have in the past as well).
I'd love to see them use some of that money to improve the service. I'm not knocking them for wanting to make a profit on what they developed, but complacency leads to death. As our crowd gets older we need newer users to join to keep the community growing.
So what features would you love to see FB add that you'd be willing to donate to get?

I’m a software engineer like you and have founded, built and sold several software companies. My point was that all software can be maintained and extended, even a crusty old pile of Perl scripts.
For sure, It needs improvement. If I can use GitHub and visual studio to create a new website for my company with an employee portal as a non-tech guy, the many tech people on this forum should be able to do it expeditiously. It took me two weeks to have my site looking and doing what I wanted to do with no bugs. Now I pay $40 a month to host my site versus the annual cost of a Wix or other hosting platform.
I’d love to see comments improved, it’s antiquated and was challenging for me to navigate once I started visiting this site.

Apparently that has been happening.
It says right on the top of the Forum page that donation is now by PayPal, Zelle or mailed-in check. This is because of service attacks with the credit card company.
Make FR like the Daily Mail. Six or seven popups on every page that make you play Whack-a-Mole.
JK. DM is the WORLD’S worst site. It, and every other newspaper site, are perfect examples of what NOT to do.

It would be nice to edit your own posts, and keep a history of the edits so everyone can see them. But that is only a minor ask for me. I like it as it is.

The use of the FR donation page by scammers to validate stolen card numbers is because FR doesn’t implement even the most rudimentary security measures.
