From what I remember Coven is a band. I bought one of their albums back around '71 or so. One of the songs was "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge".

That's pretentious. But at least Vanishing Point had cool car chases and beautiful desert scenery.

Whereas Billy Jack had heavy-handed messaging.

The bad guys were sooooo evil. Needlessly evil. And the good guys were so pure and good. Even saintlike.

Right. I forgot that.

Manson tried to hit Doris Day up for money to produce a record of his songs. She replied, saying "there's no way I'm going to pay for your record." Except she put a word beginning with the letter "f" in front of "record."

IIRC, this conversation happened in Terry Melcher's driveway.

Manson was convinced he could be as big as the Beach Boys. I think he tried to rope Brian Wilson into helping him make the record, but Wilson made himself scarce.

An accurate description. She also was Laughlin’s actual wife and probably his screenwriter. Must have sucked being him. I found the movie on the amateurish side and kind of silly but then I may have been older than the target audience.
