A Waymo vehicle pulled over around 4 a.m. on September 3 and police were contacted after the company detected a “violation of … terms of service involving a firearm,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
The incident involving two passengers occurred in San Francisco, where Waymo “cooperated fully” with police.
The San Francisco Police Department released a statement in which they noted receiving “a report of two passengers in an autonomous vehicle with a firearm.”
Upon arriving on scene, officers searched and found “a loaded, AR-styled assault rifle also known as a ghost gun.” Marijuana and mace spray were also allegedly found on one of the two suspects.
The suspects were both taken into custody and booked, but their names were not released because they are juveniles.

That is a first?
There is a lot to process in this story. I have never used Waymo and doubt I ever will.
It has done a similar thing in the past for being rowdy and shooting air guns at pedestrians and illegal alcohol and drugs...............
As I understand it waymos are actually monitored remotely by a human somewhere. Is that not true?
I believe so. There are cameras all inside the cabin...............
Were the passengers locked in the vehicle until the police arrived?
I think so............
Juveniles gets their first police checked out notice.
Bet it won’t be the last time.
Wow. And people just accept all of this as ‘progress’, and jump right into these things.
Yes, I use Waymo and cybercab regularly in Austin they both have remote monitoring for illicit activity and if the vehicle needs prompting to do something like it is in a much inch match at a 4 way stop where there is no green light and if you get two or more robots they sometimes will not take the initiative and go first.
So yeah someone say two “youth” with a ghetto blaster aka ghost gun aka AR pistol probably with no sights on it and a raw buffer tube too. In peak ghetto form. So the human had the waymo pull over and they sent a E911 to the local LEOs easy peasy and 100% the right thing to do.
These juveniles should not have been in possession of a AR as is so two punks off the street until tbeliberal DA dismisses all the charges and not before some commie judge lets them out with zero bond while waiting for the DA to drop the charges.
If you were riding in a bus , subway or cab/uber/lyft and they saw an AR rifle or pistol on you 100% the cops are being notified. Especially if you are obviously a prohibited person from having such things hint ALL MINORS ARE.
Another AI overlord. Enjoy.
> ghetto blaster aka ghost gun aka AR pistol
Would you care to elucidate? Most MSM use “ghost gun” pejoratively as any non-serialized firearm, usually in context of either kits or 3d printers.
An AR pistol could be any number of firearms from the usual manufacturers. Clearly you have something in mind (and I doubt the MSM writer has anything in its mind at all).

Guess the perps got waymo then they expected!!
Waymo vehicles are not only monitored remotely, they're even driven remotely from outside the United States. These drivers don't have U.S. driver's licenses and could even be minors.

Not likely if the BATF get wind of the "Ghost Gun".
The local BATF agent will have a hrd-on for these boys and will be very interested in who produced their AR.
The boys won't be going anywhere soon.
