Federal officials on Monday said all five people killed after an Amazon plane overran a runway in Miami were on the ground in a van.

Five people died, and five people were injured after an Amazon Boeing 767 plane overshot the runway at Miami International Airport and burst into flames on Sunday.

The cargo plane departed Puerto Rico and crashed as it landed at Miami International Airport around 2 pm ET.

The plane hit vehicles, forcing a ground stop.

“21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico,” the FAA said.

“The FAA will investigate. Contact the airline for additional information,” the Federal Aviation Administration said.

WATCH:

The van struck by the plane had seven people in it, five of whom were killed.

The victims worked for a cleaning company.

NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy on Monday said the van was "torn apart."

On your way to work with coworkers and BAM…you’re dead. You just never know when, how, where or why your time is up. Those poor unfortunates.

Looks very much like pilot error. And Coulter’s Law seems to indicate DEI involved. Maybe double DEI.

I have always asked my co-workers this question-.

“How would you feel finishing work for the day at this job, then dying on the way home; knowing that you spent your last day on Earth here, at work , doing your job?”

Yeah, I like to stir the pot a bit.

If it is a DEI crash - either the pilots or air traffic control, I wonder how much of who was involved will be released to the public?

There was this horrible crash a LaGuardia earlier this year:

"The March 23, 2026 collision at LaGuardia Airport involved Air Canada Express Flight 8646. A commercial regional jet (Bombardier CRJ900) collided with a Port Authority fire truck on the runway, killing both pilots and injuring dozens of passengers, while the two firefighters in the truck survived.

The FAA is moving to fire two air traffic controllers who left the LaGuardia Airport tower about an hour early on the night of the March 22, 2026 crash that killed two pilots.... their departure left only two controllers to handle twice the usual traffic volume during a period when the airport was dealing with an unrelated emergency."

I don’t see how this crash could be blamed on Air Traffic Control.

At LaGuardia, if I remember correctly, the controller gave permission for the firetruck to cross the runway and the pilots paid with their lives.

For me, even after the light turns green, I still look to see if anyone is running the light.

I don’t see how this crash could be blamed on Air Traffic Control.

Apparently crosswinds picked up significantly due to local storms and ATC should have advised the changes to a plane on final.

Those crosswinds showed a significant impact on the landing plane lifting the left wing enough to prevent the left gear from contacting the ground. This prevented the automatic deployment of spoilers for quite awhile

Now on to crew actions. IMO they should have manually deployed the spoilers or gone around as the landing became unstable.

The crew will eat his one with ATC's failure to update local weather as a contributing factor..

100% PILOT ERROR and he should be prosecuted for manslaughter, the outcome was locked in at least 3 minutes before crash

Double DEI could refer to both pilots, or the flight crew and ATC.

The longer this goes without identities, the more I suspect some of the victims were illegal aliens employed at the airport.
