Yep. A made up story to make her a sympathetic figure. The man did not attempt to injure or assassinate her. He just shoved through the crowd to get closer, knocking down 2 elderly people. He did not draw his guns or any other weapon.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt -- that he meant no harm but just wanted to get a closer view. Okay.
But going into a political event all rowdy and pushy, getting close to the politician, knocking folks over, and best of all, carrying a firearm..... I'd say that's probably not the best way to stay out of trouble.
Folks might misinterpret the intent. Which is what appears to have happened.

There are numerous videos of this [non]event on X. She appeared to be sporting a buzz, slurring her words. I have to see a video of the alleged assault despite their being numerous camera phones present.
