UPDATE: Here is the REAL STORY About Today's Arrest at Ohio Democrat Amy Acton at Canfield Fair Stop
The Gateway Pundit ^ | September 6, 2026 | Jim Hoft

As reported earlier, multiple people were injured after an armed man lunged into a tent and pushed his way through the crowd at Democrat Ohio Gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton's campaign event at the Canfield Fair near Youngstown.

The "alleged" perpetrator has since been identified as Patrick Havas from Ohio.

Havas was charged with two counts of assault for knocking over two elderly people. He was also charged with one count of disorderly conduct.

Democrat Acton posted a statement that was completely misleading. This did not happen.

“While attending the Canfield Fair, an armed individual lunged at Dr. Acton, injuring multiple people," Acton's campaign said.

"Dr. Acton and Eric are grateful for the swift and decisive action of law enforcement and are praying for the recovery of those injured. This kind of violence has no place in Ohio. Dr. Acton will always stand up to the chaos, hate and vitriol that pits us against one another,” Acton's campaign said in a statement on Sunday.

We now have learned more details about the incident, and what was initially reported was completely inaccurate!

Patrick Havas did NOT lunge at Amy Acton. He pushed his way through the crowd in the tent to get a good view up front.

I saw how she desperately does NOT wish to debate Ramaswamy. It sure would be convenient to cite ‘personal safety’ instead of ‘cowardice’ as the reason.

Yep. A made up story to make her a sympathetic figure. The man did not attempt to injure or assassinate her. He just shoved through the crowd to get closer, knocking down 2 elderly people. He did not draw his guns or any other weapon.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt -- that he meant no harm but just wanted to get a closer view. Okay.

But going into a political event all rowdy and pushy, getting close to the politician, knocking folks over, and best of all, carrying a firearm..... I'd say that's probably not the best way to stay out of trouble.

Folks might misinterpret the intent. Which is what appears to have happened.

Let me add this: "An armed society is a polite society."

I believe that's pretty much true. The problem with this fellow was not that he was armed -- that's totally legal. The problem was he was grossly impolite; you might say rude. Had there been others similarly armed who got their feathers ruffled by his rudeness, it could have gotten worse in a hurry. That's what I mean by getting in trouble.

Fortunately it appears he was released, so everybody can just calm down. Except of course the politician who will use this to her advantage.
