Nolte: ‘National Treasure’ Director Promises to Ruin Sequel with Politics
Breitbart ^ | 8-25-26 | John Nolte

Posted on 08/25/2026 11:23:39 AM PDT by dynachrome

“Though he did not offer many details about the third film, Turteltaub predicted that it would inevitably have to address modern politics,” reports the New York Post. “We have to be very careful, but I don’t feel we are allowed to ignore it,” Turteltaub said. “I think we have to include that idea in the story somehow without making someone feel put off.”

Expect gay stuff, the DACA chick to show the white guy Nic Cage how it’s done, and lectures about slavery and colonialism.

Yep, that’s how much they hate us.

From the article. Did anyone watch this?

“What? You mean, you didn’t know that Disney already tried another reboot with the woketardian Disney+ streaming show National Treasure: Edge of History that lasted all of ten episodes? Get this… You’re not going to believe this… They replaced Nic Cage’s character with — lol — a female, Hispanic, illegal alien protected by DACA. That sounds like a parody of what Disney would do to National Treasure, but they really did it.”

I loved National treasure. The first one was incredibly good.

Agreed, and the second one wasn’t too bad either.

It was ok. National Treasure, Lara Croft, Jewel of the Nile... all were Raiders of the Lost Ark knockoffs...

Why bother making it if they can’t ignore the woke BS that ruins every film they put it in? They’ll make it, spend lots of money, and no one will go see it. It’ll lose tons of money. We already know that’s what’s gonna happen. Just don’t make it.

“We have to be very careful, but I don’t feel we are allowed to ignore it,”

Translation: the DEI hire in HR demands that we do this.

But decent knockoffs at that.

No. It wouldn’t. You have agency and can make better choices. You can learn from all the disasterous things they did to Star Trek and Star Wars and Marvel. And NOT do those things!

What arrogance, posing as “concern”.

Not that it has a lot to do with this, but... Turteltaub’s brother in law was stoned to death in Somalia.

I also liked both movies. I watch movies over and over, and they’re on about an 8 month rewatch cycle with me. I just saw them both again. Except for the Disney+ reboot, received wisdoms has been that there wouldn’t be a third. What a pity if they ruin it with DEI

Good movie and as a rule, liked Nic Cage movies from those years.

The Rock is probably my favorite Cage film.

I look forward to hearing Jon Voigt’s opinion of the plan for a DEI twist to the story where he played Cage’s dad. Voigt is a very outspoken conservative actor.

According to Spielberg, Raiders was a tribute to many of the earlier adventure movies, comics, and books that came before it. National Treasure might be in the same genre as Raiders of the Lost Ark, but it is by no means a knockoff.
I wish Disney could do a proper tribute instead of trying to bastardize everything for the modern audience.

Funny thing about Raiders of the Lost Ark: The outcome of the story would have been exactly the same without the Indiana Jones character.

“We have to be very careful, but I don’t feel we are allowed to ignore it,” Turteltaub said.

Yes, actually you ARE allowed to ignore it. To the extent you don’t, that’s YOUR choice...and attendance will reflect that choice.

How about for once you Hollywood types just make an entertaining movie without lecturing us? After all, movies ARE entertainment, not some kind of a struggle session from the Cultural Revolution. Vote how you want, donate to whatever candidates and parties you want, but leave us the #$%* alone for once. We go to the movies to be entertained, not lectured...you condescending Leftist douchebag! Or else we will simply not go.
