President Trump said Friday that he plans to declare the Strait of Hormuz “a territory of the United States” after the Iran war.
“After we finish defeating Iran, which is being very badly defeated — pretty soon I’ll be declaring the Hormuz Strait a territory of the United States,” Trump said during a Long Island rally for Republican candidates in the gubernatorial and congressional elections.
Trump’s preliminary peace deal with Iran — signed June 17 — fell apart last month after Iran attempted to assert control over the strait, including by opening fire on commercial ships that used a sea lane preferred by the US.

He’s trolling the MSM and they’re going to melt down taking him seriously 😆 😛
It’s just a narrow body of water. You would have to assign the territory by lat/longs.
Trump has a better chance at annexing Greenland than the Strait of Hormuz.
BINGO
OK.
doesn’t matter what Trump takes, the next Democratic president will simply give it away like they did the Panama Canal
Probably right about smoking out the dregs. of opposition Including the MSM
Not to mention, Trump isn't going to be president to continue this charade forever.
Right. And we’ll make Yemen the 53rd state, after Canada and Greenland. Then we’ll finally be able to deal with the Houthis.
LOL, Trump brings out the idiots like crazy. They actually believe him.
He defeated Iran during a Long Island rally? That is impressive.
All will finally be shipshape and Bristol fashion.
True. Europe and Asia need the strait more than we do.
Make it so!
President Trump stated that he will declare the Strait of
Hormuz “US territory” after the conflict with Iran concludes.
However, apparently legally..... and logistically...... a US president cannot unilaterally claim an international waterway bordered by sovereign nations as “American territory.” -——The Guardian
Yet, Iran cannot legally stop a unilateral US political declaration,
but it can physically and strategically contest American control:
<><>through military posture,
<><>regional partnerships,
<><>and choke-point leverage.
Whether President Trump’s threats translate into formal
“territory status” remains legally and practically ambiguous.
Trump’s approach toward the Iranians now seems to be: “I can mess with you a lot better than you can mess with me.”
Then the Iranian Bad Boys will scream, “That’s not fair” !
Are you a useful idiot or just gullible?
