Jason isn’t asking his father for an allowance, a luxury car, or even help with rent.
The 38-year-old New York City-based comedian has spent years making what he considers “reasonable requests” with a clear plan and proposal.
He wants a shot at the big time — a $600 improv class, a plane ticket to Los Angeles for a gig that will bring exposure and connections, the occasional investment in a career he’s been building while juggling two jobs.
Despite his father recently inheriting millions, the answer is almost always no.
But Jason, who asked to use a pseudonym, sees things differently.
“When I die, you’ll never have to work again,” Jason told The Post of his father’s reasoning. “He kind of pokes fun that I’m not more financially stable — ‘when I was your age, I had a boat, an apartment on Park Avenue, I owned a business’ — his success was handed to him.”
“A warm gift is better than a cold gift,” he said. “Help me while it can actually change my life. Why wait until I’m 60?”
This increasingly common disagreement is playing out just as America enters the largest transfer of wealth in history.
An estimated $124 trillion is expected to change hands over the next two decades.

,,, he’s a comedian, for sure.
I ended up having to spend almost a month pretty much bedridden and another two months recovering. I was so ashamed of not being able to handle things myself. They never said anything to make me feel obligated but I was determined that that would be the last time they had to support me.
And it was.
Because adults are suppose to take care of themselves.
An estimated $124 trillion is expected to change hands over the next two decades.
Yeah. It is going to go for medical and end of life expenses. Making them a bit more comfortable in their final days.
And that is the way it should be.
“‘My dad’s loaded’”
I think this meant an entirely different thing in my youth. Especially with my dads. It did not mean money.
My dad was pretty well off when I was younger and is now what some would call rich. I’ve never asked him for a dime. He offered to pay for my wedding long ago and I refused. It’s his money, he earned it through hard work and sacrifice. So did I.
Good for you.
What is any 38 year old man doing asking his parents to pay for anything for him?
Go get a job, stupid!
My “Dads” were loaded too.
Clearly, we Boomers aren’t dying fast enough.
Because they know you and realize it would be like pouring money into a black hole.
Don't be surprise, when you hit 60, to find there's nothing left of that inheritance.
After I got out of the Navy and went to college, my parents let me live at home rent and board free as I commuted to a State college about 30 miles away.
They offered to pay for college, but I refused-they already were mortgaged twice over and couldn’t afford it.
They weren’t poor. But I sure wasn’t going to take their money from them when I could find a way to swing it myself.
And their letting me live at home room and board free was very generous.
Another bullshit story to get people arguing about something that isn’t even true. It’s a hypothetical situation used by the media to divide people and distract them from the things they should really be concerned about.
I understand.

Which the incoming communist regime will TAX at at least 25%.
“ Clearly, we Boomers aren’t dying fast enough.”
They’re about to say the quiet part out loud. Just wait for it.
L
He should mow Dad’s lawn. Instead he wants to shove Dad in the nursing home and take over his castle.
...An estimated $124 trillion is expected to change hands...
A chunk of that is real estate.
Each city/town is different.
Can any of the yutes afford a million dollar starter home?
New York state>who can afford to buy a home and pay the property taxes?
Jason. Honey. GET A JOB!
“They’re about to say the quiet part out loud. Just wait for it.”
We don’t even have to wait for it. It’s been said, and it’s been said here on this forum.
There is a predictable outcome...
“There was a man who had two sons.
And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.’ And he divided his property between them.
Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living.
And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need.
So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs.
And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything...”
