Fire and looting erupted across Los Angeles in the early morning hours Saturday as two unruly street takeovers spiraled into chaos just hours apart.
The disturbing incidents unfolded in East Los Angeles and the Gramercy Park neighborhood.
Both sprang from rowdy street takeovers, despite mounting public outrage and a steady infusion of city resources dedicated to stopping them.
A car fire erupted after a street takeover in the southern part of the city. Los Angeles fire officials told The California Post that an engine responded to an auto fire around 4:52 a.m. and put out the massive blaze.
Footage from the scene also showed Los Angeles Police Department officers watching the fire with skid marks covering the ground.
A police spokesperson told The California Post that officers arrived minutes earlier to disperse a large crowd involved in a street takeover and that had also been setting off fireworks. They took a report of the burnt vehicle in the roadway, but there was no information on whether any arrests were made.
It’s unclear how the car fire started.
In an incident that appears to be separate, an AutoZone was looted at 1131 S. Atlantic Blvd after a street takeover around 2:20 a.m. Spectators are believed to have been responsible for breaking into the store.

Is is what happened after DOGE eliminated grants for midnight basketball?
I moved out of the city 7 years ago and into a small mountain community. Never looked back. I may have only bought some time before it’s here as well
Not surprised when you have a do-nothing mayor, who will most likely be re-elected in November. Ditto for her rival Nithya Raman.

Such is not in the playbook. It is too early, the chaos has not yet matured.
The local government will intentionally take no action but will wait until full-blown authoritarian measures are warranted.
Give the Dems the WH and with coordinated unrest in numerous major cities across the nation, it will be game on.
But the smile is almost certainly a progress report not intended for you and me.
Is it them Yogi?
Ha. As opposed to the ruly street takeovers.
As when mostly peaceful car and dumpster fires are set and the quiet destruction of stores takes place and Bible verse leaflets are offered to passersby.
THAT’s a shame.
It is all just early preparations, the precursors of returning Kalifornia to Aztlán. The Aztecs were so much more civilized, only sacrificing for the greater good of everyone.
Remember during the primary how upset Nithia was that her kids heard someone being disagreeable near her home? Then it never happened again.

Stealers or destroyers of other people’s property should be incarcerated. Murderers, traitors, rapists and pedophiles should be executed. Anything less will encourage more of the same.
Seize the cars of those involved and crush them televised live. Maybe that might put a stop to some of this mayhem.
I like the way you think. Maybe we should also feature the perps in handcuffs being forced to watch their cars being crushed. Ideally there would be tears, which the camera would focus on. And maybe a chiron running that showing how much the scumbag spent on his vehicle and the new value as scrap. And a bonus might be a few clips of the perps on their knees, wearing orange jumpsuits, while they scrub tire marks off the pavement.

Don’t worry. Snake Plisskin is headed to LA to rescue Pam Grier.
