"The conservatives on here denying the affordability crisis are engaged in what I can only describe as an act of political suicide. They're also lying, which is the worst part. Grocery prices are up. Housing. Energy. Insurance. Health care. Basic living expenses. It's real. It's happening. Denying it just makes you look out of touch, deceitful, and untrustworthy. It's also a completely unnecessary and unforced error. No credible person is claiming that Trump caused these price surges. You don't have to disgrace yourself by denying the reality in front of your face just to prove your loyalty to Trump. The causes for the most part are multi faceted, complicated, and longstanding. That's true. So let's discuss them. Debating whether the problem exists at all -- or, if it does exist, whether it counts as a problem -- is a total waste of time, and makes you look like a shill and a fraud."

I don't know if you see this site as a testing ground for neocon sales pitches, but I think most of us have been around the block too many times to believe that pap.

Well clearly some of you haven't been around the block enough to learn the essential facts of the issue you are discussing.

I never expected to see so many brain dead responses to what is clearly an easy decision.

We do not let Religious fanatic nuclear terrorists have atomic weapons.

If you do not understand this, you are in a discussion over your head.

And when you lose an election trying to make that case, then you end up with a nuclear Iran and an affordability crisis exacerbated by Democrats America-haters in charge. Sounds great.

If we do not stop it now, it isn't going to get stopped.

The time is *NOW*! We will never have an opportunity to do this again.

We should all be hoping President Trump can figure out how to stop Iran NOW!

I was born in 55...prices have gone up every year. My grandparents said the same thing.

My salary went up year after year then I retired, my savings went up and my investments have gone up and my checking and savings are still going up.

We heard the warnings about the mushroom clouds from Condoleeza Rice before our last rush into idiocy; this was in 2003.

Please spare us.

In my case, it definitely pays. I got mad when State Farm increased my liability by a hefty percentage. I had never had an accident or claims. So in essence I was paying for the bad drivers.

Not only I save on liability insurance, but I get interest from the bank assets I keep in the bank to qualify for Self Insurance. In Florida it is $40,000+ liquid assets.

In essence, I am getting 100% interest tax free on the money I would be paying State Farm. What I mean is if my premium is $800/year for liability coverage, I get to keep that entire $800 without paying income tax on it.

That's what I figured. Half-assed thinking and little knowledge. Yeah, no one dangerous to us will *EVER* make an atomic bomb and then use it on us.

And for what it's worth, I was saying back in 2003 that we were attacking the Wrong country. We should have been stomping Iran.

We did fine in that war. Won it easily. Then Paul Bremer absolutely screwed up the peace. I was screaming at the radio when I heard what he was about to do. I knew it would reignite the war, and turn an easy war into a long blood slog.

FR has been collapsing since they banned the more thoughtful people who had thoughts instead of just being parrots. It has never been the same.

Anyway, food inflation is at 2.9%. Rent is down 4.4% nationwide and the GDP growth is estimated at 5% for the third quarter.

Trump can’t adequately articulate any of this as he just
assumes voters will figure it out as he prefers to just call the media and democrats stupid people, which they are.

The Iran war was necessary for all kinds of reasons. Trump won’t get any credit for it for until the next generation.

Trump is a daily profile in courage, something Matt Walsh is not.

And he was kicked to the curb for it. So is Kamala. Those who caused inflation with high grocery prices and gas prices need to be kicked out of office.

Many my age (40) and younger think they’re living in the worst period in Human history.

Family tales like yours prove that false. My paternal great-great grandfather came here during the civil war from Germany (born in Trier) and enlisted at FOURTEEN. Of course, he lied about his age.

My maternal great grandmother died when my gran was about twelve, at which point my gran became the matriarch of the house (as her older sister was off and married). Her older brothers were, unfortunately, not productive. They lived on a farm, and I heard horror stories about the fowl pecking one’s backside while trying to use the outhouse. Doing that in Michigan in winter just sounds AWESOME, not to mention the depression that was going on at the time.

My maternal grandfather fought in the Pacific theater during WWII and fought in Korea, then became a Chicago police officer. He dealt with the race riots and overall crime, and came out of it to retire 25 years later.

Some of us know that, comparably, things are good. We bounced back from many tribulations before and we can do it again. We need only have the fortitude.

Thank you for your family stories. They were brutal times.

We didn’t even mention the prevalent child labor where there was no real “childhood,” no OSHA to make workplaces safe, no environmental laws to clean air and water, no financial safety nets, periodic financial “panics” where you lost all of your savings. These “panics” caused local banks to go completely out of business wiping out the financial structure of entire towns. They make these transient and mild bouts of inflation look like nothing. Also, “food insecurity” was real and as close as one bad harvest. Millions of food products made in far away factories and transported thousands of miles to grocery stores filled with 100,000 products did not exist.

People died because of plentiful diseases that science has conquered — polio, typhus, typhoid, smallpox, measles, tuberculosis, and many more. Child birth was very risky and many women died giving birth.

People have no sense of what their own families went through nor what life has been like throughout human history. Our education system has failed in this regard.
