Photons traveling through a cloud of atoms can emerge so early that they appear to have spent a negative amount of time inside. Researchers tested whether this was merely a misleading feature of the light pulse by making extremely weak measurements of the atoms. Surprisingly, the atoms confirmed the same negative dwell time. Amazingly, the result of this weak measurement of dwell time, when the photon goes straight through the cloud, exactly equals the negative time suggested by the photons’ average arrival time. Prior to our work, no-one suspected that these two times, measured in entirely different ways, would be equal.

I like girl chickens - they’re sweet.
I was almost blinded and crippled by a rooster once. Long story.
Move some things in shed where chickens are free to roam, and watch what happens when a field mouse runs out among the roosters.

I would expect to be hit that hard by a Canada goose - they can break your arm. But not a chicken...he got me about a half inch from my eye, and in my knee; I was limping for a couple of days.
