That area surrounding the site where Ark of Covenant was once kept, must be quite vast, multi-layered and isolated.

It seems that every few months there is a claim of some recent discovery made in the ruins.

Those look like the lead paint chips I enjoyed so much as a child.

Seriously though, I thought the Jews actually lost the ark once or twice to warring tribes before it disappeared altogether.

Or you might go with the story of it being guarded in Africa all these centuries where one single man oversees it for life.

Or...top men. Warehoused next to Tesla's confiscated papers.

“Seriously though, I thought the Jews actually lost the ark once or twice to warring tribes before it disappeared altogether.”

The story of the Philistines capturing the Ark and later giving it back is an incredible event.

Jeremiah 38: 7-13 Rescued from prison pit by Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian:

Now Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs, who was in the king’s house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon. When the king was sitting at the Gate of Benjamin, Ebed-Melech went out of the king’s house and spoke to the king, saying: “My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon, and he is likely to die from hunger in the place where he is. For there is no more bread in the city.” Then the king commanded Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, saying, “Take from here thirty men with you, and lift Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon before he dies.” So Ebed-Melech took the men with him and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took from there old clothes and old rags, and let them down by ropes into the dungeon to Jeremiah. Then Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian said to Jeremiah, “Please put these old clothes and rags under your armpits, under the ropes.” And Jeremiah did so. So they pulled Jeremiah up with ropes and lifted him out of the dungeon. And Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

Jeremiah 39:15-18 Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian under God’s Protection:

15 Meanwhile the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying, 16 “Go and speak to Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will bring My words upon this city for adversity and not for good, and they shall be performed in that day before you. 17 But I will deliver you in that day,” says the Lord, “and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. 18 For I will surely deliver you, and you shall not fall by the sword; but your life shall be as a prize to you, because you have put your trust in Me,” says the Lord.’ ”

It is possible that under God’s protection, Ebed-Melech the Ethiopian, may have taken the Ark of the Covenant to Ethiopia.

Isaiah 56

1 Thus saith the Lord, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the Lord, speak, saying, The Lord hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.

4 For thus saith the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;

5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

I fail to understand peoples’ obsession with “finding” the Ark; they may just as well obsess over the Mosaic Tabernacle, long since rotted into dust.

ALL that was made by Moses (and the People under him) at the command of God were “mere shadows of what was in the Heavenly Temple,” where the True Ark is seen in Revelation.

The earthly construct’s time was ended with the Resurrection of Jesus, and has long since moldered away, just as the Mosaic Tabernacle’s time was ended upon the construction of Solomon’s Temple.

If anyone wishes to find the Ark, they need look no further than Heaven.

Since finding the ark is not what the dig or the video is about, your remark doesn’t really work out.

Thanks for the Jeremiah chapter, though that insert saying Ebed-Melech may have taken the ark is supposition like many notes in 'teaching Bibles'. It would fit if true.

The ending, with some editing, makes for a rough visualization:

"thus saith the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant...that shall not be cut off."

If I were a eunuch with faith I'd be thrilled at the prospect of an afterlife where it wasn't cut off anymore.

The insert is my own thoughts.

If the Ark is really in Ethiopia, then I concluded he is the one who took it there............

There is a legend saying the Ark was kept in a church in the Ethiopian highlands.

In two of the conquerings and exile of the Jews by Babylonians and the Philistines the Ark was removed or just taken as I recall.
