The food holiday was first celebrated in 1977, when Stan Makowski, the mayor of Buffalo, New York, declared July 29 to be National Chicken Wing Day. The origin of the chicken wing is believed to be traced back to 1964, when Teressa Bellissimo, owner of Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York, created the snack for her son and his friends. At the time, chicken wings were typically used for soup stock, but she deep fried them and tossed them in butter and hot sauce.

Ever since I got my BBQ Vortex it has been a GAMECHANGER for cooking wings.

With several flavors available, we are partial to the Garlic Butter Dry Rub flavor.
Precooked, these can be ready in 30 minutes.
Those and some crispy tater tots and we’re good. π

Also, if you haven’t picked up a grate with a center cutout, I’d highly recommend it.
The temps are so high using the vortex it’ll burn out the center of your grate after just a few cooks. π
