Sorry I thought I posted this in chat previously.

What ideas and hints do you have to make life easier and even more fun? Share the wealth?

I'll start.

Store cat food cans upside-down and it will come out easier.

Kill creepy crawlies with damp paper towel. Waggle your fingers on one side of the monster and grab it with the wet towel or tissues from the other side. It works.

“whoever invented the microwave should be in heaven”

Best cooking thing I ever learned was microwaving my morning eggs and sliced potatoes. 5 minutes and a hot easy breakfast. Bonus points for a paper bowl I just toss in the trash.

I just pop the top and shake it into the bowl. No dirty spoon if you store it upside down

Eat ice cream regularly. Work your way through all the flavors in the freezer section.

because who wants do to laundry on the last day of their life?

I rarely give my cat the whole can.

I use a plastic picnic spoon.

Snakes eat frogs and mice. The frogs eat the bugs. I have a healthy population of all the creepy crawlers and they all balance each other out. My local hawks and owls are top of the food chain. The one thing I can’t stand are the filthy mice and pack rats. They pee and poop on everything and two packrats did thousands of dollars in damage in my shop a few years ago when I was on vacation. I would have let a rattle snake live in my shop to kill those vermin.

Take pricey IT certification exams and watch Barnaby Jones reruns.

Do at least one hard thing a day. Physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, social.

if you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife.

cause from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you.

That reminded me of once when I was visiting my little sister and she introduced me to a couple of her friends who had just gotten married. I congratulated the newlyweds, and added to the guy that I was sure he would be very happy for the rest of his life. He thought that was a really nice thing to say, and my sister just died laughing. Then she couldn't explain to him what was so funny.

Good heavens! That's pure genius!!

My personal tip - don't take dietary advice from people who look like medical school cadavers or Macy's parade balloons. And if a chocolate chip cookie can't solve it, beer can.

What kind of idiotic question is this? Who allows this man/woman/creature to touch the keyboard? Where the hell is the asylum’s staff?

1. Don’t get into an auto accident that totals your vehicle even if it’s 100 percent the other guy’s fault. Well, I guess that’s kind of useless advice, as that’s just unavoidable.

2. If you do, DO NOT HAVE ST FARM INSURANCE! Not saying any of the others might not be just as bad, but I’ve have NEVER dealt with such spectacularly poor company structure, incompetence at every level, lack of action, and idiocy - in my entire 70 years of life. Oh, the stories I could tell you... But too many to even start.

This has been a very very very very frustrating month.

Go to the range regularly and practice with your favorite weapon. It’s very relaxing. The major benefit is will have no problem properly operating your weapon in self defense and more likely to hit the target.

Being at the range is fun, knowing you can defend yourself makes life easier.

Generally I rack my wine off the fermentation container leaving gunk on the bottom behind at 14 days or when there is no visible activity in the airlock or bubbling in the container. You’re pretty safe at 14 days but you could leave it for a month and it wouldn’t hurt anything.

Pectic enzyme helps clear the wine but so far I have not had to use any. This batch we’re drinking now which was in fermentation for about 3 weeks and we just racked off to a new jug 3 days ago has a beautiful color and the clarity is great. I’m amazed.

If you decide to do this don’t get upset if at 14 days it smells bad mine did and I thought it was ruined but it just needed to be degassed. Basically take the top off and stir it with a spoon for 3-4 minutes for 3-5 days and it clears right up.

I generally pull the fruit off at 14 days and then let the liquid sit for a week so it starts to clear and its easier to degass without the fruit. After you rack it off into a secondary jug it clears up fast.
