Sorry I thought I posted this in chat previously.

What ideas and hints do you have to make life easier and even more fun? Share the wealth?

I'll start.

Store cat food cans upside-down and it will come out easier.

Kill creepy crawlies with damp paper towel. Waggle your fingers on one side of the monster and grab it with the wet towel or tissues from the other side. It works.

I reccently bought a large size silicone muffin pan. It is microwaveable.

One egg is placed in the pan opening and stirred and salted and peppered. On top of the egg, I place a round slice or two of Canadian bacon.

I generally prepare two of these in the same muffin pan

In my microwave, the time is set to 2’ 15”. The result is placed in a toasted English muffin

Sometimes I add cheese after the initial cooking. It takes about 7 seconds to properly melt the cheese

This is my contribution to breakfast to relieve my wife from her early morning cooking task

Repent and be saved.

I just put the cup over the spider, and slide the sheet underneath [the spider] carefully, under their little legs, and then I can just pick the whole thing up and carry them outside and set them free without hurting them.

Befitting your screen name!

Vinegar is an excellent... non-chemical weed killer in the 30% acidity available at most home improvement stores.... be careful as it can be caustic and it could also kill your flowers or grass.

A friend sprayed this formula on his dandelion-riddled lawn, with miraculous results; the grass survived:

1 gallon 30% acidity (industrial strength) vinegar
1 cup salt
1 tablespoon dish detergent

it is pretty cool how everything seems to come back to the number 9.

The Beatles thought so, too. One of their only published avant-garde works:

Revolution 9

I agree completely with your statement #2. State Farm screwed us over after years of loyalty. Went Geico. They were very efficient up to a point with one issue, but now I’m skeptical there, too.

Someone on FR once said you should change car insurers every five years or so. I can’t vouch for the validity of that proposal, but I do think the days of getting any kind of points for being a longtime or loyal customer are over, for regular consumer products and services.

If you live anywhere in striking distance of the Faith Lutheran Church at 2640 Buckner Rd, Thompsons Station, https://www.faithlutheran-tn.org/, you might inquire if they have a used clothing drive. This is an LCMS church, the good, Bible-believing kind of Lutherans, and that entire denomination does a lot of rescue work after calamities, etc. Many of the LCMS congregations participate in a central clearinghouse for used clothing, and also for quilting.

Old accountant tool to find transpositions.

I've known about the number 9 thing for some time, but what does “transposition” mean in the accounting biz?

If you are adding up a list of numbers, for example credit card receipts, and you have a computer total and the two don’t match, you subtract one from another and if the difference is evenly divisible by 9 you’ve transposed a number in the list. Or someone keyed the credit slip backwards.

Like adding 54 instead of 45.

It would be easier and quicker to just wash a bowl than make that awkward and unreliable contraption.

What's lacking here is a sense of humor about the ingenuity of plastic cutlery.

Crest has been making a whole line of various kinds of toothpastes (whitening, pro-health, etc) with a wide cap design to support the whole tube. Works great!

Also, Bert, your egg muffin tip sounds great. Going to try it.

Those really sounded like mostly good ideas. But...when you live on S.S. & enjoy certain TV programs & can’t afford to travel or do certain other fun things, that is one less choice.
