I watch a lot of bodycam videos on YT. They ALL do that. I guess if they aren’t under arrest they have the opportunity to phone a friend during the detention process.
It’s interesting to note that they never call their dad.

There is of course much more to this story that isn’t being told. Completing an arrest is a huge deal, and in such cases comes only after other courses of action have been exhausted. Something was up, and his conduct and interaction with the police after they engaged him resulted in his arrest.
He’s 24, which translates to being 12 years old in terms of maturity compared to prior generations.
Unfortunately, the left has succeeded in decreasing the maturity levels and self control of a lot of the later millennials and Gen Z.

It has become "dangerous" due to people having their eyes and ears in their phone.

Yep- either a recalcitrant, defiant attitude mixed with a touch of battery on an officer, and/or they 5150’d him as he’d gone off the rails (pun intended) and needed immediate psychiatric help.
