I clicked on my bookmark for Free Republic.
The splash page came up.
And then in dawned on me:
Free Republic is 30 years old this year!
(There is the Dimensional Doorway thread which I will not post here!)
Free Republic proves America is a Free Republic.
It remains a wonderful conservative place where freedom of speech is true and real.
Thank you for a wonderful website. There is nothing to change about it.
Per my profile I am from March 2000. However, “Charlie from Boston” was always getting confused with me on posts and also vise versa. I changed my handle because of this. Thus my real time on Free Republic has been almost from the beginning.
Almost 28 years.
Oddly I followed Jim Rob before Free Republic. I was always reading his blog, “The White Water Papers.” Free Republic was a great find when I signed on years ago. I realized I was not alone in my political beliefs. The media do not talk about patriots except to smear us.
I am a dollar a day patriot. Other Freepers are more and other less. Please give what you can that will not hurt your budget.
Free Republic changed a presidential election. “Tanker KC and Buckhead” exposed the National Guard Faked documents against George Bush Junior as fake within hours of the release. I was up late that night and saw “KC Tankers” post just minutes after he posted. The plot was busted right here on Free Republic. Buckhead with his knowledge of forensics showed us how it was done.
One thing that would be a great help would be the ability to host pictures, so you don’t have to go find a picture hosting site.
Lets continue to forget A+Bert
“...the ability to host pictures...”

More server storage space = more operating cost.
How do you know your "Freeper #"? I've wondered how many Freepers there were before this current format began. I think the earliest date shown for that is November 28, 1997, like Dan In Wichita.
Been here since I got wind of the Dan Rather hoax.
21 years now.................
Sure seen a lot, haven’t we?
When I first started with Free Republic through a news chat on Prodigy, one did not need an email address. I didn’t even have an email address 🙃. Then Jim did whatever he did about 2 years in and everyone had to provide an email address in order to use FR. I was worried about annonimity and stayed off for a few months. Finally decided to get an AOL address and and signed in July 1998. I believe all the original posts are gone from ‘96 to ‘98 unless they are archived somewhere I’m unaware of.
Interesting, I’ve been on fr for 25 years!
I’ll have been here 26 years this Nov. !
Maybe he's deep in the Hurtgen Forest with a classy green-eyed blonde.
I’ve been here for 25 years! I’m only sorry I missed the first five.
And MurryMom... Happy Birthday FreeRepublic!!! 26 years for me.
Aren’t we all!
Thank you!
Heck, I'm drivin' an 84 yo model that still works - although it IS a bit slower, old fashioned looking and not nearly as sexy as it used to be.
