Kia America is recalling almost 463,000 Telluride midsize crossover SUVs from the 2020-2024 model years that could catch fire while being driven or parked, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says.
The front power seat motor may overheat due to a stuck power seat slide knob or an improper repair during a prior recall, and the result could be a fire while the vehicles are being driven or parked, the agency says.
As a result, the NHTSA is advising owners of the affected Tellurides to park outdoors and away from structures until the latest recall repair is done.
Dealers will install an electronic fuse assembly free of charge, the agency says, adding that letters notifying owners about the issue are expected to be mailed on Aug. 13.

Kia and Hyundai are junk.
Ask a mechanic.
Most Kia and Hyndai cars in the USA are made in the USA.
Once Ford (finally!!!) came out with a repair for the Pinto, it was a good little car.

“Once Ford (finally!!!) came out with a repair for the Pinto, it was a good little car.”
The Pinto was safer than other similar cars at that time.
They got a bad rap from a leftist rag.
I thought about buying a Telluride about 2 years ago. Glad I didn’t. Was tempted though. They look great and the price is reasonable.
So does not matter if you are parked on the driveway or driving on the parkway.

Don’t make your decision on a single minor issue. Every car experiences something.
The Telluride ranks high in build quality and reliability.
Modern day cars and trucks are overpriced, poorly engineered and using crap materials. They are junk
My buddy bought a brand new Chevy Vega in 1974. Am/FM radio with a built in 8-track player in the dash! The tranny went after one month. Nothing but the best!
Kia = Killed in Action
As do I.
The moment I saw the Mini Cooper on that list I knew it was utter nonsense.
Minis have the BMW electrical disease. Lucas was bad, BMW improved on that ...
These modern engineers don’t deserve to have jobs. I mean they don’t know how to properly fuse a circuit ? There was another such case just recently, Jeep Wranglers Causing fires because their EPS is not fused properly. How dumb can you be.
We had two KIA Optimas and both starting basically falling apart after about 80K miles. Worthless junk. Now we have a Toyota that has been perfect so far.
My favorite grade school teacher, Mrs. G, recently passed away RIP. She was tall, beautiful, Barbie-doll figure with red hair. She drove a burgundy Corvair convertible. It seemed perfect for her.....
I know someone with a KIA Seltos from about 2020. Has had NO problems with it. Mine is a 2024 Sportage, and I love it, have had no issues (just crossed 10,000 miles though).
Amen
