GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- For the second time in 2026, the city of Green Bay has accidently sent duplicate ballots to some voters across the city.
The city of Green Bay announced early Sunday evening that residents across the city have started to receive their mail-in ballots for the August primary election.
However, some of the residents who received one of the 5,084 total ballots also received an additional ballot.
The city says its staff became aware of the issue on Saturday that some voters in wards 11a, 12a, 37a, 44-47 and part of ward 43 received a duplicate ballot.
A letter from the city will be mailed out to the impacted voters with instructions to return only one ballot.
It was not disclosed how many residents were sent duplicate ballots.
Green Bay City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys says a certificate label printing error is the cause of the duplicate ballots.
“Our voters deserve clear, accurate and reliable election administration—these are the standards the city sets and that I set for my office," Jeffreys said.
“I regret the printing error occurred. I assure our voters that only one ballot per eligible voter will be tabulated. I encourage any voter with questions to contact our office directly.”
Leading up to the 2026 spring election, Jeffreys said 152 voters were mistakenly sent two ballots.
The city said none of the duplicate ballots in the spring were counted, but the error sparked concerns regarding election fraud.

It was no accident. This happens all the time in California where everyone gets a mail-in ballot - or three like one of my neighbors.

Voters deserve the SAVE Act, without that, U.S. elections are neither accurate nor reliable.

Better a federally administered election given that CA is no longer a “Republic” but a single party dictatorship. (Who makes that call I wonder??)

I have friends who have stopped voting in this state b/c of vote rigging and vote fraud. I understand completely...
BTW - just put out two bags of red cedar mulch around my fig tree as per your suggestion - haven’t seen a fig beetle yet!
I have only seen 1 Monarch butterfly so far, no hummingbirds. (I have no feeder so no surprise!) Out of 16 fig trees I moved to the basement this year (5 gallon pots) only 6 remain and I lost most of the best. Did not water them enough. My Fault. (The I-258 was a very good fig.)
We had a neighborhood effort to plant milkweed about 10 years ago b/c the local paper said the population of monarch butterflies had declined by 90% - I hadn’t seen one since I was a small child, and didn’t even realize they are native to our state.
We now have milkweed all over the neighborhood - to the point where they are weeds and have to be pulled out. I’ve given them away as gifts too. Now our backyards are full of monarch butterflies, they’re a joy to watch.
As for figs - I think my tree trimmers hacked away at my fig tree too much - I should have warned them not to touch it, it does not need trimming. The figs that are ripening are very small and ripening too soon, the local gardening column said this is due to poor trimming, ditto for citrus fruit - very little to no pruning is needed! Next time they come, I’m going to stand guard on those trees with my dogs.
