I eat about 18 to 20 a week. On celiac type diet. No dairy. Dropped 20 lbs. Dropped 60 points total cholesterol and fractions all within normal limit.
Stay strong. My doctor tried the same but I remained strong.

Any doctor who thinks dietary cholesterol is the major contributor to “high” cholesterol levels is not very bright. Every cell in your body NEEDS cholesterol; your body makes it, even in the absence of any dietary intake. The problem is genetic, not dietary... you are either not regulating how much cholesterol your body makes, OR you are not regulating that rate at which you dispose of excess. The body’s natural response to too much of anything is to eliminate the excess. Let someone with poor genetics do the same thing as this student, and they will have high cholesterol. But the dietary intake isn’t the problem... you are.

I eat at least 2 eggs a day, everyday, 2 for breakfast, sometimes 2 at lunch so I eat 700+ eggs a year.
Yet some physicians have told their patients with high cholesterol levels not to eat shrimp. Some are still warning their patients. I have a relative who loves shrimp but still refuses to eat any. He refuses to listen to anybody except his PCP who apparently hasn’t read the literature for years.
