We’ve come to a point in time when the men and women who created the golden era of rock music are in their late 70s or 80s.
Many have died or retired, but some remain – plowing away as best as they can.
This applies to 81-year-old British rock icon Rod Stewart, still touring and raising controversies.
About a week ago, Stewart had to cancel a show at the last minute over health issues, only to be seen attending a World Cup match and indulging in alcoholic beverages.
Now, the former ‘Faces’ star was forced to pause his Friday night concert in Utah and breathe oxygen from a tank onstage, explaining afterward that he nearly fainted.

“I saw Chicago and the Doobie Brothers not long ago, it was enjoyable and they still sounded good.”
#################
That’s great, and I enjoyed both groups in their prime.
But it’s a pretty safe bet that there are more replacements in those groups than original members.
It was fun for a while having the classic rock artists perform live, especially when the alternatives were not appealing. But at some point, it becomes an embarrassment for them to perform live in a large setting.
The Grace Doctrine
I worked security for Rod Stewart show in my town back in the 80s......I’ve never seen so many airborne bras and panties in my life.
Double barrel slingshots and thongs EVERYWHERE! Lol!
Check out Leonid Vorobyev of the band Leonid and Friends. When he retired at 62, the Russian music producer gathered a few friends and recorded a deep cut Chicago song as a retirement gift to himself.
They released the video on youtube a couple days later. The band Chicago saw it and posted it on their website. Leonid and Friends exploded. A couple years later, they began their first US tour. Since then the band does something like 70 shows a year in the United States.
Leonid plays bass and is clearly the patriarch on stage, He’s a monster on bass and always has a proud father smile on his face as the other members shine.
The bands love for their fans and for America is genuine. A couple members have even moved their families here.
Spend time with them before you croak right on stage.

What would be wrong with that? Going out doing what you love.
I’d prefer to go out with WHO I love.
My daughter saw Willie and Dylan last year. Willie sang two songs...barely..and turned the show over to his son. It was essentially a cover band.
Dylan mumbled for a half hour and left when people booed him for his indifference.
At some point, it's time to hang it up.
If you really need me, just reach out and touch me
Come on, honey, tell me so
If you want my body - for medical research . . . . .
‘Leonid and Friends’ are fantastic. I watch their videos quite often. :)

Rock Star, Rod Stewart heart is bleeding over the loss of the Pop Icon who inspired one of his greatest songs.
He stated in a Facebook post today: “My great friend Olivia Newton John has passed away. She was the perfect Lady, gorgeous, with great poise and with a certain Aussie sophistication.
“Her spandex trousers in Grease were my inspiration for my ‘Da ya think I’m Sexy‘ era.
RIP Olivia
Sir Rod”
The girl in the video looks a bit like Olivia and Rod is in all black like Olivia was in Grease. Both the movie Grease and Do ya think I’m Sexy were released in 1978.
Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?
No, never did.
Yeah, but isn't that to pay off the IRS for back taxes?
I’ve never seen anything like his model train. He used to take pieces on tour with him, to work on them in hotel rooms.
did they try the stomach pump?
