At least five officers were struck by a driver during a “teen takeover” event early Sunday in Chicago’s West Side, only the latest in the viral trend hitting American streets.
Elsewhere, 19 people were shot and wounded on Memorial Day in the Windy City.
Hundreds of teenagers gathered at around 3:20 a.m. along Chicago’s South Loomis Street, shutting the street down as officers responded to disperse the chaos.
As officers tried to end the takeover, an 18-year-old driver hit five cops before driving over the curb and crashing into a CPD squad car, a pole, and a fence, local ABC 7 reported.
The teen driver, who was not publicly named, was not injured and taken into custody, with charges pending. Police also found a gun inside the teen’s car.
The officers who were hit by the car were all transported to local hospitals and are in good condition, police officials said.
Along with the street takeover on South Loomis Street, Chicago police reported another incident just 30 minutes away on West Roosevelt Road where a 19-year-old was shot.
Police did not say if the shooting was related to the large gathering where the five officers were hit.

No FBI or other federal agents anywhere to assist.
“Elsewhere, 19 people were shot and wounded on Memorial Day in the Windy City.”
3 of them were the intended targets.
Who cares?
What took you so long?
Nor should they be in that filthy, corrupt cistern of a city.
A friend of mine, African American, who lived his whole adult life in DC, said that if every Saturday night, the police grabbed one of the “teens” at random, and hung him by the neck from the traffic light, this B.S. would end quickly.
A Christmas favorite for me.
I’m sure everyone here shook their heads over the last 2-3 years of TV news videos of car “donuts” and fireworks and street takeovers in several cities.
Then stories ended with “no arrests.” WHY?
Now that they try to calm a riot down, the police get hit and nearly killed by the “teens”.
These “teens” are the enemies of shopkeepers, restaurant owners and staffs, people who live downtown and tourists and occupants of the cities.
Enemies should be dealt with. Maybe take them before a judge who holds back tears as he or she lets them go with a warning. As they giggle on the way out.
Or something.
It’s them again isn’t it Yogi? The ghetto apes.

Illustrating Chicago Values
Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. And the Chicago/Cook county dims have been trying the same thing for awhile and acting suprised when it doesn’t work. It will continue to dissolve until something like “law and order” is tried.

Here’s a suggestion: Contact the local Hells Angles club and tell them to bring as many of their buddies as they want. Do what you want with these sh!theads and the cops will look the other way.
More, I think. It is probably more risky to ge law enforcement in the US than to serve in the Iran thing. (Whatever it is called now)
