IIRC during WWI it was koran as it had been for centuries.
I looked it up. Apparently it refers to itself as Quran 70 times. The word “Quran”, probably started between 705-820 AD. At least according to Google.
The Battle of Thermopylae was fought in 480 BC . It does have in common a culture where slavery is the norm however.

The Nazi's actually had an Islamic division in Yugoslavia. While the Nazi leaders were hunted down to the ends of the Earth their Arab allies lived long unharnessed lives . There is even reason to believe the Mufti of Jerusalem had a blueprint of Auschwitz in his home in Berlin.
I still remember when the FBI allowed Muslim terrorist to come to Garland, Texas and attempt to kill people drawing Mohammed at the Garland special events center. A police officer was shot and the entire incident could have been stopped by the FBI that infiltrated the terrorist group.
The best drawings that day, as far as I am concerned, was the chalk outline of the dead two terrorists killed a fast and accurate shooting cop!
