In a strange way—or in fact a not-so-strange way—conservative Christians who deny the importance of what’s happening to men today on a biological level mirror the attitudes and rhetoric of left-wingers, radical feminists, and men-haters, who label testosterone a poison or “toxin” we should be glad is disappearing. For the radical misandrists, a group that includes many men too, the suffering and plight of men today is a necessary evil on the road to a fairer, more equal society. And not even a form of evil, because many of them enjoy seeing men suffer. It’s a punishment for hundreds of thousands of years of patriarchy and male domination—just desserts. Revenge.

I didn’t know that we were ignoring it.
My niece attends a church’s young adult Bible Study where the average number of kids in the church families is eight. It is not a small church either. No lack of testosterone there
No lack in my circles either. I’m active in Trail Life USA, a Christ centered outdoor adventure program for boys. It’s led by men.
Boys learn various skills, many involving fire, knives, guns and boots.
Happy to report I’m just back from 2 hours of weights at Planet Fitness (I know …)
24 machine stations, 25 reps, stretching, 15 reps higher weight, both to exhaustion.
I’m 64 and have never been in better shape in my life. I outgrew several sport coats; I have more shoulders and chest than they can contain. My belt notches are down 2+ inches. My weight is down 15 pounds (on a good day).
Rockin’ in the Free World!
“Christianity has a complicated relationship with the body, as you might expect from a religion whose central image is God nailed to a cross and dying. “
But for a large number of us, like the tomb, the cross is empty.
Conservatives (Christians) are doing their part! May God bless the Christian men. I do not think the home school families get counted. Which is good.
A lot of what masquerades as virtue is just cowardice. There is no small number of leaders who avoid taking a stand for what is right because they are terrified of criticism and conflict.
Agreed. I can hear them meowing from here.
Not that you’d know it if you read the latest review of my book in the Christian conservative journal First Things. The review completely misses the point of the book, which is precisely that testosterone and male virtue are linked

The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a
lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for
violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog
must not, cannot and will not ever harm the sheep. Any
sheepdog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb
will be punished and removed. The world cannot work
any other way, at least not in a representative democracy
or a republic such as ours
“Have you ever noticed that mice have no shoulders at all?”
- George Carlin.
s a very striking study that shows men administered a dose of testosterone by scientists are more likely to defend a minority view in the face of opposition from the majority: Men with higher testosterone will stand up and defend what’s true, even when outnumbered. Remember how gymgoers—“gym bros”—were one of the main groups resisting the tyranny of the pandemic lockdowns? This is just one example of a great many from the book.
Medicare covers testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) when deemed medically necessary for specific conditions, but beneficiaries must navigate important limits. Recent updates could meaningfully change eligibility and costs.
“Planet Fitness” eh?
Te “non-judgemental” place that allows men into the women’s locker room?

There was quite a bit of protective testosterone on display during that last assassination attempt. In the dining room, NOT in the hallway.
So I guess that there is at least one fertile guy in that congregation.
Let's hope he doesn't get found out!
Regards,
I have three reproductive children. I have 9 grandchildren. The men have no insufficiency of testosterone.
Having said that, 5 out of the 6 parents are into suicidal empathy, and all the children are being raised with TDS. It’s very discouraging.
I subscribe to First Things. The reviewers are often wrong. I remember a review of one of Satinover’s books was just flat damn wrong. I don’t take them too seriously.
PS Having said that, First Things is an excellent publication, especially if you’re Catholic (I am not).
Because mainstream Christian “men” are low T manlets to begin with.
