HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man who pleaded guilty to murder allegedly punched his attorney in the face after receiving a 50-year sentence, court documents reveal.
Jaquarius Lewis, 27, is accused of causing bodily injury to an individual who is at least 65 years of age, according to records obtained by Eyewitness News. The alleged incident happened on Tuesday afternoon, the same day he was sentenced to confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's Institutional Division.
The bail motion reads that Lewis punched his attorney, John Petruzzi, in the face after the sentence was read.
Records indicate Lewis waived a jury trial and pleaded guilty to the April 2024 murder of Quincy Jermaine Johnson. Lewis was accused of being one of two suspects who shot Johnson while he was standing on a balcony in northeast Houston.

The Age of Jaquarius
Regardless of his age. Jaquarius is a teen.
This is the dawning prison term of Jaquarius, the term of Jaquarius,
Jaquarius,
Jaquarius!
“Jaquarius”?
Must be part of that new Amish group born in late January.
The lawyer got off easier than the victim
He was probably thinking 10-15.....and his lawyer may well have told him that
What is the parole time tables in Texas? The Feds require 85% of sentence.
“It was either that or life!”
D'Mari Jy'Quan Patterson, 20, was arrested Monday.....
Or maybe they're free to randomly throw in anywhere?
Wasn’t that a song... something about “The Age of Jaquarius”?
Sounds like the lawyer over promised and under delivered.
Say no more. Musta been a public defender as no self-supporting lawyer woulda touched the case.
he plead guilty?
most likely on the lawyers advice... who prolly sold it as the judge would appreciate the honesty and go light on him.
ROFLMAO
Prison reform would fix it but would anyone have the stomach to do what’s needed. And what’s that, you ask?
You go to prison, you’re going to work your butt off in the fields from sun up to sun down, and that food is what you will eat, and the excess will be sold to the community.
You don’t want to work? You can starve. Or voluntarily take a bullet. Whichever.
What you’re not gonna do is sit on your lazy rear end in a jail cell all day and bum off the People because you decided to commit crimes.
Did they judge reduce his sentence for good behavior?
LOL
