President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he believes the United States is “going to end up with a great deal” with Iran to end the weeks-long war.
“I think they have no choice,” Trump said during an interview with CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” when asked what he expected to come out of a second round of peace negotiations with Iran.
“We’ve taken out their Navy, we’ve taken out their Air Force, we’ve taken out their leaders,” the president said.
“We’ve taken out their leaders, frankly, which does complicate things in one way, but these leaders are much more rational,” Trump said. “It is regime change, no matter what you want to call it, which is not something I said I was going to do, but I’ve done it indirectly.”

The President yesterday posted on Truth Social, "Operation Midnight Hammer was a complete and total obliteration of the Nuclear Dust sites in Iran." A reminder: Midnight Hammer was LAST JULY. If it was a roaring success, why'd we have to revisit the nuclear sites again?
And this "regime change" talk seems to be wishful thinking. At the end of the day, it'll mean replacing one ayatollah with another.
A “great deal” doesn’t = unconditional surrender.
——we have to revisit the nuclear sites again?——
To recover the enriched uranium buried there and now sometimes referred to as “dust”
Remember if you will, Saddam Hussein ended his nuclear war efforts by shipping the enriched uranium to the care of Kadaifi in Libya. Kadaifi surrendered that uranium to us and it now resides in Oak Ridge. (or once did)
and/or ......providing the rope with which to hang them
“Saddam Hussein ended his nuclear war efforts by shipping the enriched uranium to the care of Kadaifi in Libya.”
Where are you getting this?!
It is very old news. It happened
You can’t trust them
Trump probably had a deal with one group, but they were tossed aside by the IRGC top dogs.
At best
Uh...wut?
I support going after Iran, but I'm a bit concerned that Trump is not being realistic about who we are dealing with over there. Sounds like he's trying to convince himself we're closer to peace than we are.
“To recover the enriched uranium buried there and now sometimes referred to as “dust””
As I understand things, the enriched uranium is in the form of compressed UF6 gas in cylinders.
I believe the fluorine has to be of one isotope for enrichment.

“I’ve stopped a bunch of wars, but this one is a little tougher. I might have to blow up their country to get a deal here.”
Basically what he’s saying. Sorry, but I’m too slow to see the 12-dimensional chess. If the rest of you know what’s going on here, then post away.
“I’m a bit concerned that Trump is not being realistic about who we are dealing with over there. Sounds like he’s trying to convince himself we’re closer to peace than we are.”
My concern is of Gibraltar size.
The people now running Iran are the hardest of the hardliners.
There you go again with them negative vibes Moriarty.
You’re just not a true believer are you? How dare you ever question. You remember too well things you are supposed to forget.
The people now running Iran are the hardest of the hardliners.
Eventually some group willing to deal with us will emerge. We will continue to kill those who are not willing to deal with us.
I think that's what happened with the opening and then "closing" of the Strait last week.
What “regime change” talk is that? That’s never been a goal, although it has been a hope.
“replacing one ayatollah with another”
Iran is now run by ruthless IRGC people without a bit of mercy or charity.
Compare to the Gestapo and Waffen SS.
