A witness said she was awoken by the sounds of her neighbors yelling outside her home just after 8 a.m. Video showed a large group of neighbors standing outside watching the scene unfold.

The balloon reportedly ran out of fuel and was forced to make an emergency landing right in the backyard of Hunter and Jenna Perrin’s home.

The basket, which narrowly avoided fences and trees before landing on a small lawn, was filled with around a dozen people who were unharmed and seen waving at the couple as they incredulously filmed the interaction.

Anyone who voluntarily packed themselves in that baloon was vying for a Darwin Award.

A bad landing brings all of that into the conversation.

A good landing erases most of it.

I lived in the Mira Mesa area of San Diego for 18 years. One 3 separate occasions I had hot air balloons come crashing into my house and yard. On one occasion the basket was getting hung up in my eucalyptus trees. I was very concerned that they would be set on fire by the operator. One bounced across my roof. It's one of the things I don't miss at all about that house.

Many balloonists shouldn’t be balloonists.

Just goes to show why you should always keep your lawn mowed and your yard tidy. You never know when visitors are going to drop in.

Rerun of The Price is Right a few days ago had a hot air balloon ride prize... first thing I thought of was fiery disastrous balloon rides in the news several years back.

Not everyone can be like “Lawn Chair Larry “ a/k/a Larry Walter’s. On a serious level, he is one f the most inspiring Americans to follow you dreams. But, even with all the world records he broke, his life ended by a self inflicted gunshot wound.

He will always be a hero for me to dream big, and never fail to act on the dreams.

And this copycat deserved the all time Darwin Award!

On January 13, 2008, the Brazilian Roman Catholic priest and human-rights defender Adelir Antônio de Carli lifted off from Ampére, Brazil, suspended under 600 helium-filled party balloons, and reached an altitude of 5,300 metres (17,400 ft) before landing safely in Argentina.[29] On April 20, 2008, lifting off from Paranaguá, Brazil, in an attempt to fly 725 km (450 mi) inland to Dourados, Brazil, he flew using a chair suspended under 1,000 party balloons, reaching an altitude of 6,100 metres (20,000 ft). Not having checked the weather forecast, he got caught in a storm. He had a GPS but did not know how to operate it. He was last heard on the radio eight hours after liftoff approaching the water after flying off the coast, unable to give his position, and crashed in the Atlantic Ocean; the lower half of his body was found by the Brazilian Navy near an offshore oil platform on July 4, 2008.

But it is proof Prayer Beads exist for a reason.
