A huge reason why there's this rift on the Right that didn't exist a year ago is because Neocons are not team players.
They operate as political parasites, using our candidates and elected officials for their own ends without ever reciprocating anything in return.
This isn't how stable political coalitions work. The entire point is that you join forces with people you may not agree with 100% of the time, but you still fight for their priorities so they will fight for yours.
But Neocons like to pretend they're above all of that. They're a single-issue constituency. They will bounce between the Populist Right and Establishment Left so long as they get what they want.
Case in point, many Neocons bitterly opposed Trump all three times he ran for office, and yet the moment the US began bombing Iran and delivering on the crown jewel that many of them had been working towards for over 25 years, did they turn around and repay the favor by supporting anything that Trump's base voted for?
Of course not. The SAVE Act is still languishing in the Senate despite 100% of the GOP and 80% of the public wanting it to pass. Meanwhile, Neocons in Congress are signing on to a mass amnesty for criminal aliens bill and calling it "Dignity", despite stricter immigration arguably being THE signautre issue that Trump campaigned on and his base voted for three times in a row.
The lesson here is simple. You cannot ally yourself with Neocons. Ever. They do not understand or care about the concept of political loyalty. They're bad actors who only care about permanent regime change wars abroad and will backstab you at home the moment you give them what they want.
Working with Neocons is like "uniting with the Left".
That is actually my position stated very well. I do consider the case with Iran to be a valid war because the Iranian regime actually has spent decades attacking us, not just with words but with bloodshed. But the neocons just come across as consistent warmongers who fight and lose and fight and lose and fight and lose, which I see no point to at all. And I don't see that they have ever done _anything_ for conservatism except backstab it; as such I consider them a faction of liberals, not conservatives at all, with their emphasis on a large, powerful government at the expense of individual liberty.
I’m not a neocon....
One of my main reasons for backing President Trump is his pledge of no new wars.
Iran declared war on the United States in 1979.
THEY DECLARED WAR ON US!And they have been killing our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines ever since.
Hundreds, if not thousands of deaths of Americans have been committed by this evil regime.
Carter said they are evil.
Reagan said they are evil.
Bushie 1 said they are evil.
Clintoon said they are evil.
Bushie 2 said they are evil.
FUBO said they are evil.
Brandon even said they are evil.
President Trump says enough, stop them from getting the bomb, then moves to shut them down for good.
After 47 years of half ass fighting a war that they declared.
STFU.
Define ‘Neocon’.
I'm sure Bibi Netanyahu was claiming that Iran was "two weeks away" from getting a nuclear weapon when the guy was in kindergarten.
The unreconstructed guy is always angry—as one would probably be if they were an overweight slob who probably hasn’t had a woman show interest in them for decades if ever
As far as I can tell, Iran’s clashes with the U.S. have all involved attacks on U.S. personnel and assets in Islamic dumps where we have no business maintaining a military presence in the first place.
LMAO.
I hear the Gulf Muslim Arab States don’t want us to stop attacking Iran.
Damned Neocons.
Always tricking us into fighting their wars. Kuwait, Iran, ISIS, Yemen.
When will they fight their own wars so we don’t expend our blood and treasure on their wars?
Neo-con has became a pejorative label that some people, like this author, apply to anyone they don’t like. The SAVE Act not passing? It’s the neocons’ fault. Never mind that libertarians like Rand Paul, no neocon by any definition of the word, vehemently oppose ending the filibuster in order to get it passed. But Neocons aren’t team players, according to this author’s thesis. Never mind the decidedly un-teamlike behavior of staunch anti-neocons MTG and Nancy Mace.
Trump was never an isolationist and neither are most of his supporters. The only people walking away from Trump’s coalition right now are isolationists so it’s odd that the author would choose now as the time to come out with an article about neocons not being team players. But then again, disinformation was never designed to tell the truth.
They see people as mere pawns. They're going to get what they want from President Trump and then toss him to the side when they're done.
I thought Trump was BiBi’s puppet. I am so confused.
There is some truth to that, but they started out on day 1 by taking over our embassy and holding hostages and shouting about the “Great Satan.” And they’ve continued on that line down to the present day.
Excuse me?
They aren't tricking us, dude. They're buying us.

THE END
... and shouting about the "Great Satan."
Take a look at the world around you today, and you might conclude (unfortunately) that they're probably right about that one.
Trump’s been tricked by the Neocons again?
“America’s primary goal with Iran must be to destroy its nuclear ambitions. Let me put them as plainly as I know how: Iran’s nuclear program must be stopped — by any and all means necessary. Period. We cannot allow this radical regime to acquire a nuclear weapon that they will either use or hand off to terrorists.”
From that noted NEOCON book, “Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again” (published December 2011)
By Donald J. Trump
Neocon is a term used to describe someone who's not an actual conservative but pretends to be a "new" version of one in order to hijack a conservative movement in part or whole, to redirect it to support the Neocons' agenda.
That definition needs a definition of a Conservative.
He sure as hell wasn't going to win one of those by adopting a George W. Bush/Dick Cheney/John McCain/Lindsey Graham/John Bolton foreign policy.
