Should Texas fund Muslim education?

On the one hand, America enshrines religious freedom and equal treatment for all religions. On the other, supremacist indoctrination is central to Islam. What to do?

A federal district judge has ruled that at least four Islamic schools in Texas are eligible to receive tax payer funding with dozens of others waiting to join, according to media reports. These include the Maryland-based virtual school Bayaan Academy, K–12 college prep school Brighter Horizons Academy in Garland, the Excellence Academy north of Dallas, and the K–12 Houston Quran Academy.

With public alarm growing over the Islamization of Texas due to mass immigration, state officials initially tried to exclude Islamic schools from receiving funding through the new billion-dollar school choice program, the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA). Concerned about links to terrorism and a dubious accreditation agency, officials rejected most of the applications from Islamic schools and reversed those that had been approved.

Under the voucher program, taxpayers fund more than $10,000 for student tuition at state-approved private schools. Eligible homeschool students can receive up to $2,000 for approved expenses. As expected with government programs, funds come with conditions and restrictions.

Many of the schools that have applied are linked to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has been designated a terrorist organization by Texas governor Greg Abbott because it is connected to Hamas and the Mother Brotherhood.

Abbott defended his opposition: “We don’t want school choice funds going to radical Islamic indoctrination with historic connections to terrorism.”

The lawsuit employs the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment along with Freedom of Religion of the First Amendment. The plaintiffs claim religious discrimination against Muslim parents and Islamic schools that have been excluded from the approved list of private schools for voucher funding, while hundreds of other religious (mostly Christian) schools are

^THIS^.
It’s waaayyyyyy past time.
This ideology should have no quarter within the boundaries of the USA....NONE!

No, but it should give education vouchers to legally resident PARENTS to use as they please — along with those given to Christian parents.

Should they fund Catholic schools? Or Jewish schools?
________________________
Should they our society fund Communist indoctrination schools? Should our society fund atheistic schools? Should our society fund Moloch schools? None are acceptable in a fundamental Judaeo/Christian society and the same certainly holds true for demonic Islam. All are incompatible with in our society, where Catholic and Jewish schools are clearly acceptable, compatible and non-controversial. We have to understand rationality and avoid anarchistic behavior where ‘anythig goes.’ As God gifted discerning human beings we have to make distinctions with regard to shaping a sane society for ourselves and our progeny.

There should be zero Muslims (and Hindus) in Texas and every politician that allowed it to happen should be tried for crimes against the American people

No. It is way past time for Islam to be tagged as the alien plot it is and not compatible to the American way of life.

The state does not fund Catholic private schools, so why should the state fund mohammedan schools?

This is a perfect argument against having ANY government involvement in education.

Government-funded schools are fundamentally incompatible with a free society.

Seems to me that Texas & any other state has the right to refuse taxpayer assistance to any school that is teaching....who knows what? In fact some of these schools have no business setting up in our country..period. Think we could go to an Islamic-controlled land & set up schools teaching American philosophy to them? I sincerely doubt that.

WELL DUH!!! Do you understand we're in spiritual warfare???

HISTORY - 1400 years / over 700 MILLION innocent people murdered by Muslims!

“Muslims” A mass of people who carry a "holy" book that says to murder all Jews and Christians who won't bow to their prophet.
And now we're flooding them into our country and even putting them into our government.

Can American voters be more stupid or are we trying to destroy ourselves, our kids, grand-kids AND our future???

I should hope we do not fund Muslim education. That would be suicide. Gov. Abbott is right....that would be insanity. We know what Muslim nations have to say about us & it is their intention to defeat us by one means or another.

“So you’re unacquainted with Islam?”

Very acquainted. The problem is that as long as school curriculum is allowed to be perceived as religious material, that which falls under the scrutiny of the USDOE, as religious, it can barely be scrutinized. But that fine line of where it turns into a contract of terrorism and the wide view of the first amendment, is using the proper wording protected same as Catholic and Jewish schools. So they can’t go out in the open and say to rise up against the federal or state government, just tell the truth with spin. And that isn’t against the law.

Only the local public can influence and change what public schools teach, primarily by influencing the locally elected school board, which dictates curriculum, textbook adoption, and teacher training. Residents can force changes through public comment at board meetings, school board elections, and, in some cases, state-level lobbying. Seen them flocking to the school board and screaming?

Sounds like another avenue for fraud - in a few years, Nick Shirley will find out these schools never existed, yet the government paid out millions...

In the past, moslem schools have done nothing to educate moslem kids except constant repetition of the Koran.
