President Donald Trump made a surprise stop at Graceland Monday during his visit to Memphis, taking a private tour of Elvis Presley’s legendary home.
During a roundtable earlier in the day, the president hinted at the detour, telling the audience, “I’m going to Graceland after this. I love Elvis.”
Minutes after the event wrapped up, the president arrived at the Whitehaven landmark — the second most visited home in America, behind the White House.
The president spent roughly 30 minutes inside the mansion. During his visit, access to the property was closed to the public, and portions of Elvis Presley Boulevard were temporarily blocked off.
Inside, the president viewed well-known exhibits and personal items from the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, including Elvis’s final Grammy Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom that Trump posthumously awarded him in 2018.
Trump told the White House press pool that although he never met Elvis, it’s something he has always regretted.
A longtime Elvis fan
“I’ve never been here, no. I’m a big fan of Elvis. Who isn’t, right?” the president said. “I think his music is incredible. I understood his life — his life was complicated, right? It was complicated. But he was terrific.”
While discussing Elvis’s place in American culture, the president said the music icon continues to inspire generations.
During the tour, President Trump visited the famous Jungle Room, where he signed a guitar—adding a new presidential touch to Graceland’s collection.

Elvis’s cover of Never Been To Spain was the best one of the many who did it.

Typical for the TDS press.
Use one from 1980 and then they might have to admit it.

We can always compare their baby pictures: Elvis is a little older than Donald in these pictures, not looking as secure, well cared for and nourished; but there is a structural similarity. Elvis was a smart guy, but Donald already had a bigger brain case for his extra large think pad.
Well done.
That’s some good detective work there. +1
I have always thought he more strongly resembled General George Patton. I don’t see the resemblance to Elvis, but maybe if you ran Elvis through an aging filter...
use a age comparison photo, that is Elvis at 35 Trump at 70.
While Elvis was grateful that people were calling him the king of rock n roll, he’d reject that title, saying “Only Jesus is king. I’m just a singer.” He also once said that if there was such a thing as king of rock n roll, that title should belong to Chuck Berry.
