A suspected meteorite crashed through the roof of a woman's home in Houston.
Authorities believe it may have been a piece of a three-foot meteor that was seen over the area on Saturday afternoon.

Initially, Ellingham's team told James that the rock had likely fallen from a plane, before leaving her home. They returned a short time later and revised their hypothesis, now saying it likely was part of the meteor.
James said she was a little scared during the impact, but added that she's definitely going to keep the rock, which she described as being very heavy.
NASA has since confirmed there was a meteor that first became visible 49 miles above Stagecoach, a small town northwest of Houston.

James said the rock tore a hole through the roof, landed in her daughter's bedroom, ricocheted off the floor and back into the ceiling before landing on her bed

Perhaps there are other pieces nearby.
Neat looking rock, the outside looks like a baked crust , the inside looks granular .
Potential buyers will be in touch .
I saw this video of a Martian meteor that sold for $ 4.3 million at auction.
Daaaaaayum Yolanda bout shat when dat mfr hit her crib yo!!
The good news is that she found baby Superman in the meteorite. The bad news is that she ate him.
A Zoomby crashing.
Not do sure but does give EWS early warning system.
Yeah, it definitely could have been worse.
So what were they thinking, that this chunk was a pebble that fell from a tire? Or maybe somebody tossed it out the window?
"Initially, Ellingham's team told James that the rock had likely fallen from a plane, before leaving her home."
And that was *before* it had even left her home!
It wasn’t a Kryptonian, but rather a baby Wookie, and as you know those are a little Chewy.
I was driving on Loop 8 in Houston a couple of years ago and heard a loud “Crack” sound. When I got home, there was a .25ACP round lodged in the left rear quarter window of the Mazda.
They won the lottery and it didn’t kill them. They didn’t even have to buy a ticket!

AS IF PLANES CARRY ROCKS FOR JUST THOSE PURPOSES
Technically speaking that didn’t touch the ground so it’s still a meteor.
When I reported it to my insurance company for reimbursement, I went with “unknown cause, probably gravel.” I didn’t think that “item tossed out of cockpit of passenger jet” or “random meteorite” was going to fly, no pun intended.
I think you are right. More mass you have on body, more gravitational pull for the meteorite to aim for you.
My kitchen window faces south toward 8 Mile Road, the border with Detroit. One time our electric service kept fading in and out. Electrician found a perfect .22 hole in the wire from the meter down into the house. Maybe even a spent round, can’t remember. Kept that section of wire as a souvenir.
When she finds out how much that rock is worth, maybe she will change her mind about keeping it.
Whoa.
Shrine it off, charge fiddy cent to see it!
I always thought if a meteor slams into your home, and there is an investigation by the government, one should expect that the government would be keeping that rock, taking it way ‘for research and analysis’. I am not sure if the homeowner could refuse to surrender that rock.
Tell the government representative to ‘Take a hike!’.
