Gas in Los Angeles is $5.40 a gallon
March 12, 2026

Posted on 03/12/2026 7:46:25 AM PDT by Angelino97

This morning I went to buy gas in Los Angeles. The price at the pump per gallon was as follows:

Unleaded ... $5.3999

Plus ... $5.4999

Premium ... $5.5999

Yet some people here are complaining about gas in their states being $3.50 or $3.60.

Democrats complain if gas is high or low when a Republican is president.

When a democrat is in charge and directly responsible for high prices without a war they love it, and when it is low they want it higher.

Anyone old enough to remember Desert Storm lived through the same thing and once Iraq was pacified gas prices dropped fast and low. The same will happen with Iran.

Here in Oregon, diesel has remained the same.

You might try one of these places which show the prices at or around $1/gallon cheaper ($4.24-4.59/gallon). Yeah, it’s still higher than in most other non-leftist states right now, but hey... it is Newscum territory, after all.

“”Not me. I’m complaining that it’s $3.19 here in Texas””

Gas Buddy map is showing prices around $2.09-$2.55 here in Texas today. And that’s way down from what it was when OBiden was drooling around the White House. The people complaining are the usual suspect complainers whenever it’s not a D in the WH.

As of March 12, 2026, gas prices in downtown Los Angeles have reached, and in some cases exceeded, $8.38 per gallon at specific Chevron stations, such as on Alameda Street. These extreme prices are driven by a sharp, region-wide surge, with some reports noting prices of $8.21.

But it ain’t price gouging they said.

“I paid $3.29 last Monday.”

You ain’t in LA and that what was the article is about. In California the state’s excise taxes, environmental fees, and climate programs all contribute to the price people pay at the pump. California also requires a specialized cleaner-burning gasoline blend. That’s both more expensive to produce and made by a smaller number of refineries. California is the highest taxed state in the union with an average of 5.568 dollars per gallon.

In your post you referred to ‘other states’.

The fact gas is WAY overpriced in Calif. doesn’t mean that it isn’t overpriced in more moderate communities as based on their normal prices before this latest abberation.

“In your post you referred to ‘other states’.”

Yes I did. And I displayed while doing that that the price of gas in those states was almost half of that in LA. A clear demonstration that the taxing in California was not only the cause of most of it and it was ridiculous.

I post a comment in a thread, then forget about the comment and the posters.

You autisticly monitor those you disagree with, follow them from thread to thread, bringing up comments from years ago that are unrelated to the current thread.

That shows your obsession.

No, I'm not going through your most recent 80 posts. I don't do that for anyone. I have a life.
