Per OpenTheBooks analysis of DoD data, these were Pentagon-wide contracts in Sept 2025 (end of fiscal year "use-it-or-lose-it" spending spike to $93B total): $98k Steinway piano for Air Force chief of staff's official residence; $2M Alaskan king crab, $6.9M lobster tail, $15.1M ribeye steak, $124k ice cream machines, ~$12.5k fruit basket stands—mostly bulk for base dining/facilities. The best thing out at sea is the fresh baked bread. Navy bakers are the best. It takes about a week or two to run out of regular store bread. Then the baking begins.
