Chinese-American tech billionaire Lin Bin purchased a small stake in the Miami Dolphins at a valuation of $12.5 billion, a record for a publicly known minority transaction, ‌Sportico reported Tuesday.

Bin is acquiring a 1% stake in the holding company that owns the Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, Formula 1's Miami Grand Prix and part of the Miami Open tennis tournament.

The previous top valuation for a minority transaction was $10 billion, set in October when the Koch family bought 10% of the New York Giants.

In 2019, Lei was recognized as an “Outstanding Builder of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” (Chinese: 优秀中国特色社会主义事业建设者). The recognition was used by the United States Department of Defense as one of the reasons to add Xiaomi Corporation to a list of companies that support China’s military in January 2021.[32] Later, the blacklisting of Xiaomi was blocked by a United States federal court and was removed by the United States Department of Defense after an agreement with Xiaomi was reached.[33][34]

I’m unable to confirm.
Check out his business partner

I am surprised. Because, according to a list of valuations from November 2025, the Dolphins were the 11th most valuable franchise in the NFL for $7.5B. That's a huge jump.

The 49ers were estimated to be a little less than $10B, but they sold a little less than 10% at a $8.6B valuation. This guy may have been seriously rooked.

In a few more posts he will have paid 1.25 billion for a 1% share and the team is worth 1.25 trillion dollars. Before the night is over. Wait and see.

That was thwarted by the professional dependent pill popper Jim Irsay. A liberal butt munch. I hope he’s rotting in hell.

Correct. Team, stadium, tennis tournament, Autodrome F1 and Formula E events.

That’s more than a team that plays 18 weeks of the year. International friendlies are another possibility and will be FIFA Qualifiers.
