Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Ultra-Woke Frankenstein Flick ‘The Bride!’ Bombs at Box Office
Breitbart ^ | 7 Mar 2026 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/09/2026 6:32:55 PM PDT by Rummyfan

Before we get started, I’d like to point out to the useless sycophants in the entertainment media that what I’m doing here is how it’s done.

You see, the news that The Bride! is a super-woke spin on The Bride of Frankenstein (1935) and Bonnie and Clyde (1967) has been obvious for some time and became blatantly obvious when the reviews poured in — especially the “positive” reviews, because even the “positive” reviews were “positive” in a grudging and backhanded sort of way.

So, yes, I wanted The Bride! to fail at the box office, because woke delivers lousy art and even worse storytelling, and the only way to make it stop is for it to fail at the box office.

But, Useless Sycophants in the Entertainment Media, did you see what we didn’t do? What we didn’t do is what you useless sycophants did with Melania. We didn’t wishcast by writing piece after piece about how Bride! would die at the box office. Why? Because I try not to make a fool of myself, and one of the easiest ways to make a fool of yourself is to predict the box office with such certainty — which is what you useless sycophants did with Melania, something all Normal People thank you for.

Well, not everyone in Hollywood gets to partake in the satanic pedophilic cannibal rituals that slow aging.

Sheesh, you’d figure with roughly 1.5 million people disappearing in the US every year, the ghouls, vampires, zombies and other monsters would be doing well.

Looks like AI will have all their jobs soon.

At least she died.

I wasn’t much on Holmes though.

The earliest versions of these movies Frankenstein, the Werewolf, Dracula, White Zombie were the best and the most sensitive.

Yes, they were!

Very few horror movies really scare me, but that sequence creeps me out and gives me the shivers every time. 🫣

And may I say that Maggie Gyllenhall is not aging well.

She wasn't attractive when she was 25.

I agree. I thought Holmes was by far the weakest link in the first movie but Gyllenhaal absolutely sucked rocks in the second.

I would say that Gyllenhall was not born particularly well, either. She's never been attractive. As someone else said, the most unbelievable thing about the Batman, the Dark Knight was everybody thought she was beautiful. Now, I don't believe that one must be beautiful to be an actor/actress, but I suspect that her success was primarily due to her fealty to the Woke cabal.

Just think in 5 short years both Frankenstein and Dracula (Universal’s original versions) will be 100 years old. Let’s me know I am getting old.

She was the weak link in an otherwise great movie.

"The Dark Knight" (9.1 at IMDB) was amazing in how believable it was, grounded in reality without super-powers or magic ruining the illusion.

Right up till Heath Ledger's Joker told Gyllenhall's Rachel Dawes she was beautiful in the penthouse party crash scene. Even in his role of a lifetime Ledger couldn't make that interaction sustain the suspension of disbelief.

Fortunately the movie got right back on track when she was "let go".

Anyone know if Gyllenhaal has given interviews and made music videos in which she explains that the film's failure is due exclusively to "hate" from White Ray-cists and misogynists?

Regards,

I would disagree. She is aging as we all do, and I don’t see the vain attempt to deny this process with plastic surgery or some other treatment. We all change as we get older and our faces reflect the life we live. To me those that try to retain their “youthful beauty” are the ones that don’t age well, but those that accept and embrace their age retain a certain dignity.

Yuck! That is NOT normal. Feminist women age worse, especially around the eyes. I think it’s all that rage they store up that eventually manifests itself physically.

Madeline Kahn's version was high art - even 50 years later we remember it and newer, younger audiences discover "young Frankenstein" every year

"Maggie Gyllenhall is not aging well" -- well to be fair, she was never a looker

I would never call her even pretty. I'm not sure about her acting capabilities as I think i've only seen her in Batman
