Ragin' Cajun: Either get on team America and support the liberation of a brutalized people...or STFU

Ragin' Cajun on X: "I am not a jingoist by any stretch of the word. Moreover, my daughter is on the USS Lincoln as we speak. I have skin in this game. I have read (and heard) a lot of BS about whether or not we should be in Iran. Let me be clear...I've been a SME on Iran for 25÷ years. I speak Persian Farsi, Dari, Balochi, and Tajik. I've been to Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and yes... Iran. There are few who know Iran as "intimately" as I do.

The reasons for this war are nuanced and complicated, but one thing is clear as day... the Iranian people (by and large) are good people and they just want to have the same liberty and freedom we have. Their women and girls want to be able to go out into public without having to fear if they'll be arrested and beaten (or even killed) by the "Virtue Police".

If you cannot see that, and you cannot support the liberation of a people that have been brutally oppressed for 47+ years... then you have no humanity and you and I are not the same.

-Con't on X -

Okay...I thought for sure this was James Carville’s account, but...it isn’t. My first thought was “Egad, what the hell is he going to blather on about.”

Then I thought “There must be something wrong with him. Far too rational, and I agree with too much of it, which never happens.

Then I thought “That can’t be him.”

All undoubtedly true - but all also undoubtedly true of the Iraqi people victimized by Saddam for decades. We spent twenty years of American blood and treasure to free them - how's that working out for women in Iraq currently?

As long as we confine ourselves to airstrikes and support for Israeli airstrikes, I'm on board - hopefully the Iranian people will rise up and depose the regime. But no American boots on the ground - and I don't believe Trump will ever agree to that either.

Just for curiosity what are you a “Special Matter Expert”
in?
I agreed with your opinion, but I want to know.
I’m a SME in many areas eg. wooden yacht building,
Systems design, Electronics and Computer
engineering, and a few other skills I’ve been paid for.

‘”Then I thought “That can’t be him.”””

***

It’s definitely not Carville. This ‘Ragin Cagin’ is a true patriot. Read the rest of his comments.

“I’ve been reading the comments saying,
“This isn’t America’s fight” or “The Iranian people must do it alone.”

That stance misses the point entirely.

America has never been just a place.
It has always been an idea.

The idea that liberty and freedom matter.

The idea that tyranny should never be accepted as normal.

If a free nation refuses to stand as a beacon of hope for those living under abject oppression, then our words about freedom mean nothing.

I won’t mince words...
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”- Proverbs 31:8–9

The Iranian people are not our enemy... they are human beings who have lived under IslamoNazi tyranny for nearly half a century.

Turning our backs on them does not make us wise... it makes us indifferent... and indifference to oppression is how freedom dies.

America must always be what it has been at its best... a light in the darkness and a voice for those who cannot speak. 🇺🇸”

We can’t be the world’s brutalized-people savior; but we must oppose brutal governments that want to nuke us and our allies. Thus, we attack Iran, but not China or N. Korea, which have been minding their own business.

We've heard this lame sh!t before. If it's not worth invading a country and annexing it as a new U.S. territory subject to U.S. law, then leave it alone.

This idea that Americans are supposed to establish and cultivate Jeffersonian principles of responsible self-governance in Third World sh!t-holes all over the globe is delusional nonsense.

“We need to fight in Iran to save the poor, oppressed people of Iran.”

*after 50,000 civilian deaths*

“They wouldn’t have died if they weren’t near terrorists. Those dirty Muslims had it coming. Boy, do I feel good about myself.”

It truly is an awakening when you see the same people who say:

“Turn the whole place into glass.”
“Muslims are subhuman animals.”
“Good!” ...after a hospital or school is blown up

...also say, “We need to fight this war to help the poor, oppressed people there.”

It shows that they are just bloodthirsty ghouls who will say anything to sate their bloodlust.

Whatever form the new government in Iran takes, it should include a 2nd amendment. And not because you need an assault rifle to hunt deer.

Since November 1979 I have had a smoldering anger towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, and not once, ever, has that ember of hatred for that stinking Islamic Regime died out. I have never let that go in 47 years.
  • I have waited 47 years for the memory of a charred C-130 and an intact CH-53 at Desert One to fade.

  • I have waited 47 years for retribution against some Iranian cleric who poked at the remains of one of our war dead with a pocket knife.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day we didn't ignore them.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day we didn't appease them.

  • I have waited 47 years to not have an expectation of a Democrat President bowing in subservience to those beastly Islamic pieces of crap.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day I didn't wonder how may F-14 Tomcats were still airworthy.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day we didn't dread some terrorist attack from them with an accompanying idiotic Islamic justification.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day I didn't have to see their government officials on television in robes on their bodies and Imahmas, or their black suits and white shirts with no ties as they tell us how they are going to destroy us.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day we didn't allow them to take prisoners of US Navy personnel.

  • I have waited 47 years to wonder if today would not be another day I would see American Democrats (including many self-proclaimed pious and craven "conservatives") siding with those Islamic scumbags against their own Country.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day we didn't wonder if they have a nuclear weapon already.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day we didn't send them pallets of cash.

  • I have waited 47 years for the day we didn't wonder about where their diesel submarines were.

  • I have waited 47 years or the day I don't have to see and hear crowds egged on by Iran shouting "Death To America".

  • I have waited 47 years for the day we don't have to hear their putrid, arrogant voices threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz.

For today, for this opportunity, for making all of these things at least a possibility 47 years later, I don't thank gutless American politicians on all sides who just went along to get along for 47 years and not make waves. I don't thank the UN and our NATO "allies" who sided with the tyannical, brutal, and lawless Iranian government at every turn. I don't thank the American Left who never, in 47 years, found themselves at odds or disagreement with Iranian Mullahs.

I thank President Donald J. Trump for this opportunity to put to rest these things I have waited 47 years for.

I thank Secretary of War Pete Hegseth for stopping the flooding of DEI into our military, and advocating for a focused, lethal military bent solely on destroying enemies of this Republic, as well as those in our military who have taken these reforms to heart and carried the war to our enemy, who has been at war with us for the past 47 years.

I thank Secretary of State Marco Rubio who has been sober and singleminded in his expression of our national intent in these actions.

And I thank our brave and bold Israeli allies who have suffered under the black cloud of Iranian threats to destroy them for the last 47 years, and never, ever stopped fighting back, and never, ever compromised with Iranian evil to buy a faux safety.

Israel has always recognized Iran as an existential threat.
As America should have done for every day since November 4th, 1979.
