'Boil in a bag' funerals come to Britain: Scotland is the first part of the UK to introduce alternative technique that sees bodies dissolved and flushed down the drain
dailymailuk ^ | William Hunter

During a boil in the bag funeral, the body is wrapped in a biodegradable shroud, often made of silk or wool, and placed in a pressurised steel chamber.

The tank is then filled with a liquid made up of 95 per cent water and five per cent of an alkaline chemical such as potassium hydroxide.

The body is heated to 150°C (302°F) under pressure, which ensures that it does not actually 'boil'.

Over three to four hours, this replicates the natural processes of decomposition that would normally take decades to occur inside a coffin.

Finally, the resulting liquid is cooled, treated, and poured into the drains, where it is processed alongside normal wastewater.

You’ve never had to dispose of a body, I see.

Exactly, just bury the corpse in the ground such that no animals can dig it up, respectful and decomposes just fine.

5-10 years is all it takes with a natural burial

Exactly.

This is no better - no worse than cremation.

That picture made me laugh.

About eight years ago, I was scattering my mom’s ashes on the beach in Indian Rocks Beach Fl. I was taking handfuls and scattering them at several places on the beach. I grabbed a large handful and flung it out over the surf.

About that time, a gust of wind blew inland and I got a bunch of my mom’s ashes back in my face. Not nearly as bad as the video you posted but enough to make me sputter a bit and wipe my face.

I am pretty certain my mom was somewhere laughing as she saw that.

>> Metal parts, i.e., hip implants, etc., don’t melt. They get separated out from the ashes with magnets and recycled.

With *magnets*??!? That’s sooo Harbor Freight! Around here the orthodocs favor nonmagnetic titanium. 😉

In the Atlanta area there is a cemetery that offers natural burials. It’s called Honey Creek Woodlands. It is located in Conyers, GA on property owned by the Monastery of the Holy Spirit. Check out their website:

Someone, somewhere will take this “product” and start selling it as a “super fertilizer,” which will eventually give all of us “Madcow Disease.”

Anybody know where you can be buried in a simple pine box with no embalming or other postmortem frills?

Yes, where I live (Caribbean). It’s the only option on the menu.

Or, try this Mid-Western company. https://www.theoldpinebox.com/pages/about-us

Ah, so it ends up in the drinking water. Only a matter of time before muslims declare it needs to be halal and that they need to do a proper killing first.

I think that’s referred to as natural burial. I think that’s how they interred my son-in-law’s brother. He died as a teenager and is buried on the family property in an unmarked grave.
