A “vermin infestation” has forced a well-known steakhouse in Marina Del Rey to shut its doors.
Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse — a spot that charges diners more than $70 dollars for a filet and $20 bucks for cocktail was shut down on Feb. 17, according to the Los Angeles County Public Health Department.
During the inspection of the upscale establishment, the health inspectors found several violations. Two of the five violations were categorized as “Major.” The two major violations were for “no insects, rodents, birds or animals present” and “food contact surfaces: clean and sanitized.”
The other violations included equipment storage and structure upkeep … but they were not major issues.
“The results of our latest health inspection do not reflect our commitment to running a clean and safe restaurant. We complied with the health department’s decision to close the restaurant following pest activity confined to a small area of the restaurant and have actively worked with our pest control provider to address the issue,” a rep for the restaurant told The Post.

At first, it reads like NOT having varmints present was the violation.
The 4 legged varmints or the 2 legged ‘Rats?
Probably hard to maintain a pest-free environment surrounded by homeless encampments.
I’ve been to Ruth’s Chris about 3-4 times (Never paid for one myself), and was STILL not impressed. Am I missing something?
>homeless encampments
>Marina del rey
Thanks for winning two awards today: “I am an idiot” and “Opening my mouth about a place I know nothing about”
Obviously.
Marina del Rey is generally considered a safe, affluent coastal community with a crime rate 53% below the national average. While violent crime is low at roughly 194 per 100,000 residents, the area has faced recent, localized concerns regarding crime related to a large, long-term homeless encampment, including reported burglaries and theft.
My husband and I ate at Ruth Chris’s restaurant in San Antonio and we thought the food was less than average and way overpriced. Not a fan.
I was just going to stop by the Fifth Third Bank and get some money, and eat at Ruth's Chris' Steak House.

Sorry pal but that is like saying a fire in the bronx means brooklyn is in flames
If you look at the actual details in the above link it is an encampment along the 90 HWY which does lead into marina del rey eventually but the encampment itself is not inside the limits of MDR
I lived in Marina del Rey for years while my kids were in Jr. High and High School. Not a great school district so my son and daughter went to good Santa Monica schools courtesy of a dear friend who let me put a phone in her house in Santa Monica in case the school called. Also sent printed school stuff there.
The two towns were on the beach, easy for the kids to walk to school in good weather and just a few minutes drive. Those were wonderful years for us and for California.
They must allow Democrats in.
Yes - it’s very poorly written and/or edited.
That’s the state of American print journalism
Morton’s or the Palm had better steak when I was living there, also the Pacific Dining Car downtown.
Homeless camp out in Marina Del Rey.
Ruth’s Chris is such a tongue-twister.
How did they arrive at that name?
You can always trust the accuracy of Katie Jerkovich...
Don’t mind the maggots, just eat your NY strip.
