Now lest anyone think I’m well-to-do, my main phone 📱 is only $20 per month and the backup phone 📱 is only $20 every 3 months. The 3rd phone 📱 I can only use on WiFi.
So my two main phone is 📱📱 only costs $240+$80 for a full year (plus a little tax). Since I use WiFi most of the time I have nearly 70 gig of spare data on the main phone 📱.
Yeah I could switch to other plans but the phones 📱📱 are locked 🔐🔐.

I use a video doorbell made by Eufy. (yes that is the name) Local on device (SD card) storage only, no cloud BS like Nest.

My sister and I were sitting on a bench outside of a surgery center waiting for my brother to be discharged.
About halfway way home, Sis said, “Oh, I forgot my water bottle on the bench.” She said she didn’t want to bother going back for it.
About a half hour later, she was getting ads on her cell phone AND her PC (????) for water bottles.
I forgot to add that I ALSO was getting water bottle ads. So I guess the mics at least can’t identify or distinguish voices. Yet.

What does that mean?
Ring doorbell cams do the same thing - they just don’t make the data retrievable by you - or allow you to talk with someone if you aren’t at home when they come calling.
But they still notify you when there’s activity at your door and allow you to see the pic - or even a “live view” of what’s going on in front of the camera, without a subscription.
