Having said that, the claim is going viral on the left, so you need to have your facts lined up to challenge your TDS-suffering friends and acquaintances.
esterday, Donald Trump posted an interesting video on his social media about voting machine election fraud in 2020. This is obviously a topic dear to his heart. Moreover, as the investigations in Fulton County, Georgia, demonstrate, it’s still a very hot and important topic (making it all the more bizarre that Senate Republicans will not push the SAVE Act, which aligns with the bipartisan public desire for election integrity). That Trump would post such a video is a no-brainer.
The problem with the video Trump posted is that it’s a dead certainty that he reposted it without bothering to watch the whole thing. Had he watched it to the end, he would have known that there was a problem.
You see, the video is a screen recording captured by an unknown third party. And what the unknown third party was also clearly unaware of (or, possibly, didn’t care about) was the automated beginning of another, entirely unrelated video.
So, what you get after 58 seconds of a serious video about a serious topic is two seconds of an automatically played video showing Michelle and Barack Obama’s heads attached to the cartoon bodies of simian creatures. (Apes? Chimps? I have no idea.) You can see for yourself what happened: [video at link]
As I can attest from my slow learning curve in making video-podcasts, failing to clip the end of a screen recording is a classic amateur mistake. That means it’s entirely possible that the person who recorded the serious election fraud video, like Trump himself, had turned his attention away in the last few seconds, because the real point

I think a better argument is that he didn’t post a racist video, because the video wasn’t racist. Saying Trump didn’t know what he was doing because he didn’t watch the video while admitting that the video is racist just plays right into the left’s hands.
I agree, but I don't mind saying I expect better. Someone needs fired. Or Trump needs some kind of protective filter. Whatever it is, but this kind of stuff does damage, there is no just brushing it away as "doesn't matter, not intended". JMHO
Considering that newspapers of the time portrayed Abraham Lincoln as an ape, Obama should feel honored.
This is nothing compared to the collection of caricatures of President Trump.
Why NOt?
The Obamas need racist videos posted about them daily, in the millions.
Why?
Because the Obama’s themselves are quintessential racists themselves.Their whole “raison d’ etre” was to upset the American view of assimilation of all in our American melting pot in order put people who look like them on top, large and in charge by using racial minority nationalism and fascist politics.
Post as many racist videos about the Obamas that you want. Tell everyone the truth.
I laughed out loud when I saw the clip. Whatever the circumstance, I dont care. Trump has been called pedophile, racist, Nazi, crook, you name it. They literally cooked the books to make him a “felon”. Time for folks to thicken up their skin a little.
Trump posting frivolous stuff and then admitting he didn’t watch it completely ….as a defensive response….just compounds damage to his image of being a loose cannon
The damage is to all of us who want … desperately need….this administration to be successful
Either he did it.
Or somebody he trusts with the keys did it.
Or he got hacked.
One way or the other it’s yet another pathetic incident. In a long long string of them.
I could care less. Everything a white person does that liberals don’t like is called racist, they have redefined and diminished the meaning of the word. So we all may as well be racists since we will be tarred with that brush anyway (to use an apt metaphor).
The klan always was and is hardcore dims, so no, this didn’t secure anything for anyone other than the dims.
Oh come on. Trump's team made a mistake. It's OK to say so. As soon as Trump found out, he ordered the post be taken down. Period. End of story.
“Obama is first and foremost Black”
You’re half right.
This is the most absurd flim-flam of a defense I’ve ever read.
The headline is utterly misleading. What follows after it is a claim that President Trump posted it inadvertently, not that the post itself wasn’t racist. There’s a lot of jibber-jabber about the Left, about context, and about how the President isn’t rally racist.
Yet it wasn’t taken down for hours after the questionable content was made clear to any sentient viewer. (It was sufficiently offensive that Benny Johnson declared it to be a fraud that was never actually posted.)
Yep. The Left will be talking about this for the next two weeks. Until they come up with a new narrative.
I’m OK, or at least accustomed to ad hoc as far as Trump is concerned. “Loose Cannon” is not an image, it’s Trump’s style. But unforced errors are a different thing. They pop up every once in a while, and it always rises to irrational defenses, basically defense in absence of any kind of analysis or reason. As I put in my OP, I expect better from my “very stable genius”. Right?

Frenemy of the State: Ten Nasty Things Trump Said About Marco Rubio
A fond look back at ten brutal swipes Trump aimed at "Little Marco."
In a twist fit for a reality TV show – or, you know, the Trump administration – two-time president-elect Donald Trump is reportedly eyeing Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio as his pick for secretary of state.
Yes, you read that right.
Born and reared in Miami to Cuban parents, Rubio served for nearly a decade as a Republican state legislator before taking his game from the Sunshine State to Congress in 2011. He has been a right-wing constant ever since, earning a zero out of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s Congressional Scorecard in 2022 thanks to his stalwart anti-LGBTQ and anti-choice voting record.
Despite his national profile and influence in Florida, Rubio was once the subject of relentless ridicule from the man who might be his new boss.
Back in 2016, when the two men dueled on the debate stage for the Republican presidential nomination, Trump famously dubbed the five-foot-ten-inch legislator “Little Marco.”
Yet, politics makes strange bedfellows, and now Trump is said to be prepared to elevate Rubio to one of the executive branch’s highest positions. The nomination would mark a stunning shift from the insults Trump hurled Rubio’s way on a near-daily basis.
So, let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit all the times Trump skewered Rubio, sparing no jab in his quest to dominate the GOP.
1. “Little Marco”
2. “Lightweight”
3. “Choker”
4. “Mr. Meltdown”
5.”Totally Owned”
6. “Sweating Profusely”........

Gee...we’re so transparent I need my smelling salts. Too bad transparency wasn’t around when Biden, Kamala, Fauci,Mayorkas, Levine, and Durban roamed the earth.
I don’t worry. In fact, I am tired of the constant manipulation that is going on. Why don’t they just shut the hell up and concentrate on Chinese production of bioweapons on US Soil, or the plot to infect American farming through alient seeds? Now that is a news story worth writing.
In review of decades of reading posts on Free Republic, my testimony is that conservatives always revert to biting the hand that feeds them.
Conservatives always pick out some trivial factor that differs from their extremely narrow view, desert the cause and then chew on the feeding hand.
It’s why there is no conservative party. It’s why conservatives become losers

I have bitched and moaned and shouted out about this for decades. And I’ve even lost good friends and relatives for pointing out the stupidity of exactly what you’ve described. It’s disgusting, and that is being too kind!
Of course, that's how politics works. The important thing is that we fight back.
