McConnell, facing mobility challenges from childhood polio and recent falls, appeared hours before a Senate cloture vote on spending bills for agencies like Defense and Homeland Security. The vote failed 45-55 amid Democratic opposition to DHS funding and immigration disputes. The images drew online criticism from conservatives calling it embarrassing and pushing for age or term limits, while a few praised his dedication; his office has not commented on his health.

Yes.
But did he vote to stop the budget?
Or to support Trump with his vote?

There's nothing untoward about needing a wheelchair to get around.

My wife needs a wheelchair and uses it both inside and outside the house to get around.

But she's only 70 and has cancer.

So let's talk about McConnell's age (83), or his health (polio, etc.), but getting wheeled into the chamber for an important vote per se is not germane.

McConnell is one of the holdouts on the SAVE America Act for election reform.

yes, senators had been wheeled into senate long before Mitch was.
With IV’s and breathing machines.
In senate, you have to be physically present for a vote. No excuses, zoom, no mail in’s.

I hope the same will be sometime applicable to general elections.

The term “Senator” is derived from the Latin word for “old man.”

The ultimate sick vote was cast by Diane Fienstien. She was rolled into the Senate to vote and then died on the same day!

“Then why won’t he retire?”

His bribery says he cannot retire until he fulfills his obligations to return the paid-for favors.

It is why all these geezers refuse to retire.

A bribe rents a politician.

Blackmail means lifetime ownership of a politician.

Needless to say blackmailers never want geezers they own to retire.

The owned politician’s only excuse for failing to obey their masters is death.
