Minnesota Shows Why the Left Will Win America’s 2026 Civil War
American Thinker ^ | 26 Jan, 2026 | Vince Coyner

The saddest thing about this is that the Republicans will work with the left to ensure their victory.

The United States is facing an existential threat. My guess is this summer will be the most violent, damaging domestic summer since the Civil War. And I predict the left will win and come out victorious on the other side. They will, after winning this new civil war, seek to eliminate the last vestiges of republicans.

I use a small r because while some Republicans are true republicans, most are not. And when the left wins the war, those RINOs are going to “work with” Democrats to create the illusion that America is still a republic, but it won’t be. They will use every tool available to silence dissent, take control over virtually every sector of American life, and they will implement rules so that America becomes a one-party nation.

Now I say all of this with the great hope that I am wrong, but I don’t think I will be.

The cowardly Republicans are going to cave in every conceivable manner in order to try to forestall a civil war. At every level, they are going to give in to the left, they are going to “compromise” their principles, and they are going to betray their voters and our Founding Fathers.

And I mean that at every level in every branch. There is simply no universe where Republicans have the intestinal fortitude to do what’s right in the face of withering attacks from the left.

There is literally no better example of this than election integrity. Nothing animates GOP voters like election integrity. Not abortion. Not welfare fraud. Not guns. (A majority of Democrats support it as well!) Literally nothing gets rank-and-file Republicans more animated in 2026 than elections

I don’t think that’s true at all. The left has taken over the education of teachers and administrators cater to the liberal teachers. Conservative teachers feel on the fringe and end up leaving teaching.

This is what happens in all our institutions, the left drives out the good people, mainly because good people have other options, and they decide ‘to heck with it.’

If they want a Civil War, it will be short, sharp, and they will lose.

Might as well be done with it.

During the Civil War, President Buchanan took no effective action to end the secession of the Deep South states. A quarter century earlier, President Jackson told South Carolina that if their state tried to nullify tariffs, he would send Federal troops to collect the v. What we have been getting from the Trump Administration is Jackson level rhetoric and Buchanan type weak action.

When President Lincoln called for 75,000 militia to suppress the secession of the Deep South states three days after the loss of Fort Sumter, he knew he took the chance that the other slave states would secede. Four did, with Kentucky declaring neutrality. The secession of Virginia put the national capital right on the front line, and had Lincoln not acted quickly to prevent Maryland from leaving the Union, the District of Columbia would have to be abandoned and the Federal government going to some location, possibly Philadelphia.

President Trump seems to be on the same track he was in the 2020 George Floyd riots: a lot of rhetoric but no real action to suppress the riots, even if the authorities in Oregon, Minnesota, and other states refused to suppress the rioting. He needs to take a lesson from history, from Presidents Jackson and Lincoln: bold and forceful action. Lincoln had no problems with reassigning or firing incompetent generals. Trump should have fired General Milley immediately after he expressed regret for going with Trump for a photo op. The President needs to go back to the tough boss model he showed in TV shows and his books.

Neither Jackson nor Lincoln were preoccupied with foreign affairs. They were dealing with secessionists who wanted to preserve the plantation system economy. At worst, had Jackson and Lincoln failed, the remaining Union would have remained intact, just minus the South. Trump is dealing with a far worse issue: a Marxist ideology running from the street thugs and deluded leftists on the streets to state and local officials in sympathy with the thugs and fools and probably in the pay of the drug cartels, judges appointed by Clinton, Obama, and Biden, and even some Bush judges trying to thwart every action of this Administration, funding from the likes of both "new money" (Soros, Gates) and "old money" (Ford, Rockefeller) foundations, which often launder Federal grants, and possibly foreign Communist and Islamic enemy nations.

Make sure your offspring know a foreign language like Spanish and a valued skill.

Voting with the feet is the only voting that will matter.

The federal debt is ~$400,000/American citizen full-time worker.

What do you think is ‘affordable’ when it comes to a house, Mr. & Mrs. Young?

$300,000, tops!

The $300,000 isn’t enough to secure Mr. & Mrs. Young’s $800,000 share of the federal debt.

You might say there’s stock market value to secure the federal debt. That would need to be about $500,000 for Mr. & Mrs. Young and their kiddies. That’s $500,000 after state and federal corporate tax is paid. Yup, $500,000 profit, after tax, just from one American citizen family.

It has often been said that Russians love misery and feed off it.

The same can be said of defeatists and pessimists on Free Republic. They just feed off it.

I'm sick of it.

You are right, mewzilla.

These people on the Left (with help from their "friends" ostensibly on the "right" spent decades burrowing into the system like the ticks they are.

And they have been busy.

While WE slept (and this includes ALL of the "Bondi isn't doing anything. Trump isn't doing anything. We're going to lose. We're all going to die" people) they stacked the judiciary. They changed the rules to hide and protect their perfidy from discovery and prosecution, and to proof it against those things. The institution of the "blue slip" was no accident. The creation of the Senate rules on filibustering was no accident. The blizzard of legal challenges prior to the 2020 Election were no accidents.

These things were all crafted and implemented by domestic enemies on the Left with OUR help and OUR inattention. WE allowed it. ALL of us. That includes ME, and includes every one of YOU reading this, if you get this far.

I am sick of the whimpering and the whining here because it didn't all get fixed on January 21st, 2025. It is stupid and infantile.

It is going to take decades to undo what has been done.

It is going to take multiple consecutive Administrations and majorities in Congress to do it. And even then, it is going to be a vicious fight.

And I agree with these simpering surrender monkeys on one thing-it may not be possible. We may indeed be doomed as a nation because it is a huge uphill fight to undo what has been done over decades while we all let it go on autopilot and enjoyed our lives. We may simply as a nation not have the GUTS to fight anymore.

And is isn't like Trump has not done anything, as I read with amazement from a number of people on this forum (and not just the Leftist trolls and provocateurs that the Robinson team has decided to let hang around here) that not only has Trump not DONE anything, he is in it only for himself and his own glory, and really doesn't give a crap about this country. Yes. I have read that here on this site, and those same people continue to have posting privileges here.

But it is their site, and I pay to post here because I believe it still has value.

It is unlikely we will ever get another American President like Trump. He has shown his value in spades in his second term, and he is only one year into that term. Bondi is a disappointment. And he is delaying invoking the Insurrection Act. But it isn't as if he is ineffective and doing nothing, and doing ALL of it nearly on his own.

I think so too. We cherish popularity and primal instincts while mocking knowledge and wisdom. Civility is dead. Low IQ primal savagery is popular.

Good always loses when it behaves civilly.

Look how much was lost to Hitler until we got mean.

Look how long it took the North to get mean.

Look how long it is taking Great Britain, Netherlands, France, Germany, Belgium AMERICA to get mean.

Ukraine never got mean, I mean really mean, the WHOLE country that ran away ftom Ukraine.

Dr Ray says it is the way men parent today(last 30 years)....tolerate, tolerate, tolerate, tolerate, KILL!

And that is what went wrong with me and my generation of men’s parenting....and leading society.

Getting up instantly, ever single time, is exhausting and absolutely always required. But the tolerate, tolerate, tolerate, kill is going to get a lot of otherwise unnecessary-to-deliver sorrow everywhere....or evil will just win.

I pray we men get up and stop the evil for Goodness sake.

To me, Trump and ICE is doing that and in Minnesota, the Police and the public that appreciate good are not.

We ought not need violence, merely instant and determined and full attention of presence against evil.

Cannot men block agitators, requiring mayors and police chiefs to become men like little boys try of their dads?

Being a Florida AG I expect AG Bondi did a lot of socializing as well.

How do we win a war against a crowd of illegal aliens, unemployed low IQ leftists, and DemocRAT politicians whose careers and fortunes depend on votes by the aforementioned dregs of society?
......

You obliterate and drain.

That’s how you win that war.

You abolish the govt of the Swamp, by the Swamp, for the Swamp

45-47 has the Declaration of Independence hanging on the wall of the Oval Office for this reason.

The three Swamp branches of govt and their 50 Swamp tributaries long train of abuses and usurpations are on a collision course with another train with a mandate to obliterate it.

Long post—but this one issue needs a comment:

“The creation of the Senate rules on filibustering was no accident.”

Senate rules can be changed by a majority vote.

It may take fixing a rule that fixes the rule that fixes the rule but at the end of the day it just takes a majority vote.

Republicans in the Senate need to stop making excuses and just do it.

The RINOs and libertarians in the Republican Party are perhaps more pernicious than the actual Denocrat/communist opposition. They are the 2026 equivalent of the Copperhead opposition to Lincoln in the Northern states. BTW, what is it about Kentucky that it gives us a number of these modern Copperheads?

If the civil war is lost as I fear it may be, it was not lost at the polls at least the state and national polls.

It was lost over several decades in the home and in the public school system.

What I see is a populus in the whole who has never been properly disciplined in the home or in the schools.

I see NO FEAR of consequences.

We have raised generations who in the majority are godless.

They do not look to God to find their way in the world, but gubmint.

Somehow, some way Trump has won three national elections.

But there is a disconnect.

Even in states Trump won, I see school boards made up of locals who are woker than woke.

Even in counties Trump won, the most liberal Democrats triumph.

This can be over psychoanalyzed.

Trump is an alpha male authoritarian father figure just as two of those guys on Rushmore named Washington and Roosevelt.

Say what you will about Trump but he raised a family through three marriages that he can be proud of.

His kids reflect discipline and although they may not have been raised in the church, they are God fearing.

Place that up against the Hollywood crowd who hate Trump with all their being who have no fear of God and no fear of consequences either temporal or Eternal.

There are racial, ethnic and religious components in this civil war and my observations may be more pertinent to the “white” population which still makes up about 60 per cent of the US population and to whom the civil war’s latest “martyrs” Goode and Pretti belong who certainly were raised to have no fear of consequences nor a fear of God for that matter.

Andrew Jackson is Donald Trump’s favorite president. Trump should act like Jackson who told both South Carolina and his own vice president, John C. Calhoun that if they did not cease and desist their insurrection, he (Jackson) would send in federal troops to quell such actions. SC did stop and eventually Calhoun resigned as vice president.

Trump should invoke the insurrection act now.

What technology survived the fall of Rome? I think we are getting ready to do a deep collapse, world wide.

The technology survived. It was moved to Constantinople.

Rome was a fraction of its prior population after Constantine moved the capitol moved to Constantinople (now Istanbul). There are accounts of residents describing the vast portions of the long-abandoned city they'd walk through to get to where they lived. Rome was "sacked" by invaders who walked right in.

The "deep collapse" has been ongoing for nearly a century as large segments of the world have been abandoned in place. There are entire cities in the U.S. that are in effect "ruins" and would disappear if not for distant taxpayers being forced to subsidize them.

Here's just a sample of such cities:

I agree fully with your clarification. Make no mistake-I am NOT saying the Left did this all on you own. They had plenty of "helpers" on OUR side, and they still do.

The reluctance of the GOP to change the Blue Slip and Filibuster rule DOES enrage me. You commonly hear them say "But...but...but...we can't do that...what will the DEMOCRATS do when THEY are in power?"

That enrages me. You and I know what they are going to do. They are going to do whatever they have to do to continue doing things the way they have been for decades.

If that means changing those rules, packing the Supreme Court, and doing things both legally and illegally, they are going to DO it. I fully agree this hesitation infuriates me.
