Mayor Zohran Mamdani called for abolishing ICE during a gushing interview on ABC’s “The View” on Tuesday.
The socialist mayor told the hosts he doesn’t see federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents doing anything to help public safety.
“I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist,” Mamdani said.
Mamdani claimed deportation raids would “rip” the Big Apple apart.
“We are talking about people whose crimes simply seems to be being in New York City and if they make good on this threat and would rip the civic fabric of the city apart,” Hizzoner argued.
He also doubled down on calling the shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent “murder” — and making it clear he would uphold the city’s sanctuary city laws in the face of threats of funding cuts from the Trump administration.

Next he’s going to outlaw cancer.
He’s doing the typical pandering thing, where he rides on top of some current that is popular at the time, but what he suggests is not even .1% realistic.
He knows what he’s saying is crap. The only thing you can be sure about, is that there is no way he’s that stupid.
But that is telling about what sort of person he is and what sort of people watch the View or vote for him.
We shall see what New York looks like in a few years.
